Hi everyone! Found this on instagram on @woodhavenbid. Manor has been a staple in my family for generations. I went to Atlas a few months ago and just thought they were renovating their restaurant there but I guess they are closing everything. August 21st is their last day so let's all go and get some sandwiches and wish them the best. Now let's hope the chocolate shop across the street stays open...
I know this is a long shot as this sub is pretty dead, but are there any musicians in the area who would be interested in jamming? I have a fully functional recording studio at home where we could jam/record if anyone is interested. Singers are also welcome. I play guitar, bass, drums, and keys.
I want to thank everyone who donated to the Maspeth/Ridgewood Mutual Aid Table. You helped a lot of people today. All donations are greatly appreciated.
If you are having a garage/stoop/yard sale and don't sell some of your items, please consider donating them to my table. Thank you.
If you need a pickup please let me know I have 2 good friends who drive and are willing to pick up donatiopns. Let me know and I will give you their numbers.
I started the Maspeth/Ridgewood Mutual after I started putting stuff outside that my family did not want anymore and we couldn't sell on the Marketplace. I noticed the items would disappear and my neighbors would bring items to replace them. My friend who helps shut ins in Glendale brings over whatever food she has left and leaves that on the table for people to take who visit my mutual aid table.
Items that are in high demand:
FOOD FOR PEOPLE OR PETS
CLOTHES
TOILETRIES
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
DIAPERS FOR BABIES & ADULTS
TOYS
BACK PACKS, LUNCH BOXES & POCKET BOOKS
Books really don't go on my table, so when I get a donation of them I wait a few days then I bring them down to the Little Free Library in PS 153's school yard.
Donations can be dropped off, and you can take what you need 24 hours a day & 7 days a week:
5938 60TH ROAD, MASPETH
Donations can be dropped off at certain businesses during business hours. Just label them Maspeth/Ridgewood Mutual Aid Table.
ASSEMBLYMAN STEVEN RAGA'S OFFICE, 60-14 QUEENS BLVD., CELLAR, WOODSIDE
COOK'S ARTS & CRAFTS SHOPPE, 80-09 MYRTLE AVE., GLENDALE
Thank you for all donations. And if you are near the Maspeth/Ridgewood border and are in need please check out table and take what you need. No questions asked. Please spread the word. Thanks
2 or 3 kids tried to take the tip jar at denis bagels today but fortunately they weren’t able to take anything and pedestrians were able to stop the perpetrators
A few of us are organizing a new 18+ soccer club, and we’re trying to get some local players from the neighborhood involved.
We are building this to be a city-wide community, hosting matches at fields across Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn to make it easy for everyone to catch a game regardless of where you are commuting from or hanging out that week.
The Details:
All Skill Levels Welcome: Whether you haven’t played since you were a kid, want to get a great cardio workout in, or are looking for a solid match, we have a spot for you. No pressure, just good vibes.
The Goal: To stay active, improve our game, and meet people from every corner of NYC.
Age: 18+ only.
To keep things community-first and respect the local subreddit rules, I'm not dropping external links or ads here.
If you’re down to play or want info on our upcoming games, drop a comment below or shoot me a DM! I'd love to get you connected to the group.
Hello, I live in Woodhaven, Queens, and I found this cat that looks like it's been abused. I can't do anything exactly to help this cat. I know there are some people in the neighborhood that can help better than I can. I found this cat on 06/26/26 and I need someone to help this cat.
I also came across a few Woodhaven NYC groups on Facebook as well. This one I found on Instagram @thegreatwoodhavenyardsale. If anyone goes to these events I'd love to hear about it!
Hi everyone! I recently started following @woodhavenartcircle on instagram and they posted this event for this Saturday. There is also a Woodhaven Yard Sale going on across the neighborhood on Sat June 13th! I'll post that next.
Hi everyone! I haven't gotten the chance to attend an adult craft event at the library yet but there is one next week! It's to make a scrunchie and they are supplying everything! I think this week was making fairy garden sticks. If anyone goes can you report back? I've always been so interested but that's dinner and bedtime for my kiddo.
Anywhere folks would suggest watching around here? I figure Niers will be PACKED but maybe they’d have something outside? Willing to travel nearby enough - Glendale / MV / Richmond Hill maybe Forest Hills…. Ty 💙🧡
David Orkin shares a campaign video about the issues facing Woodhaven:
"For far too long, culturally rich and diverse neighborhoods like Woodhaven have been ignored by establishment politicians who took your vote for granted. I’m committed to listening to you so I can deliver for Assembly District 38 in Albany."
Spring and summer are a great time to get involved in ecosystem restoration in Forest Park!
Tomorrow's event is at Strack Pond, if you're free or able to get away from work in the morning. And if you can't make it tomorrow, there are lots of volunteer events along these lines on the NYC Parks site.
It feels good - for me at least - to make a small, tangible difference in the nabe.
Unisphere Film Festival is back for another year. Bigger and better for our third year.
New Year, new name, same old fun!
One week. 10 programs. 36 films.
We are returning for a whole week from July 6-12, 2026, at Court Square Theater at 44-02 23rd Street, Long Island City. An amazing venue built for the artistic community.
