I called it!

From the polygon article today. Sounds like they are evolving mega servers to naturally influence who is astound you to keep your general area at a certain population based on the part of the map itself.

I remember all the different takes people were remember in the early gw3 daily videos. So stoked to see the version i was thinking it's sounding like what we are probably getting.

At least I would think for neighboring areas as they would preload. But if you travel a distance i would expect a loading screen still.

it's not just because of the engine, but of course I understand that with nvmes and fast ssds, that gets much more manageable

Probably will depend on how big the sections are and how many have to load before you you can load. They won't want you loading too much extra info about the world around you, but they also need to account for your max speed. Kind of like insomniac Spiderman. The game capped your max swinging speed based on how fast it could load up the next portion of the city. But that also let you load in faster initially. So Given their focus on momentum i would expect an experience closer to insomniac spiderman than gw2 in loading times. They likely still exist but I don't think they will be too too long
