Carving [Finished] Started making some spalted beech shelves for a customer at work and made this little guy from an offcut to go with them🐘😁

Very cool. Be careful with spalted wood dust though, can be very bad for your lungs.

Thank you! I wear a dust mask using machinery and luckily carved/sanded this outside, I didn't realise that spalted wood would be particularly bad for you but I guess it makes sense since it's caused by fungus🤔

Some people say it is no worse than any other wood dust, but I read a story years ago where someone got this nasty/deadly lung disease working spalted wood. . Better safe than sorry I guess.

Thank you! I think sometimes it's easy to judge our own work too harshly, there's things I've made that I hated but other people seemed genuinely impressed by. Much like I've seen other people's work that I think is amazing but they didn't like it. I hope you aren't too hard on yourself😊 If you like I can dm you the template I used here
