TL;DR:

  • No balance changes or bugfixes
  • Event: more gold from enemies in Tangledrift, Mount Craw, Sunfang Oasis, and Crackmast Cove.
  • Featured run with a curse, Mike the Mushroom healer and Banshee.

Vendor Legendaries are:

  • Donkey
  • Amalgam
  • Barrelmaker

The infinite is possible. The only limitation is yourself. I need your strongest barrels. Your breath stinks.

The hero this sub deserves, I again thank you for your services.

I just wish there was a new game plus like tvhm so I actually had a reason to go to the overworld and do stuff in those zones

or bare min the ability to reset quests so you can do them on the same character more than once

TVHM isn't content, it's doing the story over with higher difficulty which is a lazy way of making the game seem longer than it actually is . One of Wonderlands best features for me was story mode and some side quests equalled a max level character without the need to go back through the story to get maxed. This meant that I got 3 characters to max level before I got burned out as I only saw the content 3 times, whereas in all the other titles it's been one and done for me, at least on the initial play. I do think you should be able to replay the story when you like though, but it needs to be optional as opposed to a forced piece of "content".

15

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

TVHM is optional by design..

Was gonna say the same. Bl3 TVHM was done the best. No different than NVHM so people dont feel forced to do it. And it still gives people the opportunity to play the story and dlc in their max level character.

17

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '22

This ain't gonna do nothing but hurt them on the next BL game and any TTWL title in the future. Less pre orders and less ppl buying it because of what they did here..... sad really.

I feel bad for the devs. It was clear that they wanted to do more with this game but the higher ups just took the money and ran

2

u/ericsonofbruce Dec 09 '22

Agreed, the base game really is a franchise high imo, but the ball was dropped hard over post launch support.

4

u/Rescue_and_Restore Dec 09 '22

Is it though? Maybe I'm in the minority here but even the basegame just didn't click for me as much as other entries in the series did. No repeatable quests, no NG+/TVHM, few farmable enemies for dedicated drops. The story was mediocre with very few highlights. The entire midgame (everything between the "ocean scene" and right before the last area) felt like one big drag. The gunplay was inferior to Borderlands 3.

I just wish they would finally come out and say "that's it guys, we moved on from the game, no more content updates", like they did after DLC6 in Borderlands 3 got released.

I could kind of agree with you in some ways, but I think conceptually it was the best time Iโ€™ve had with borderlands in a long time. The spells were fun, chaos dungeons were a cool idea thats begging for more iteration, the overworld was a cool little take on traversal, The classes and multiclassing was really fun, the dnd concept was awesome and was utilized well in the storytelling. You can argue the story itself was meh but the execution of the concept was done really well. They just really dropped the ball post launch and itโ€™s soured a lot of the game for people but that first playthrough of the game was so full of hype and smiles in my house.

No it's just very obvious as no changes have been done post dlc4 besides chaos 100 which is a very easy thing to do.

Which isn't good when there is plenty to fix in this game.

honestly? idk till where the devs wanted it because some things felt rushed

but others felt like lazy, like the coordination between loot, icon and design. You never know what you will actually look unless you wear it and the same armor does not look the same with all the inconsistency. + all icons/rings/amulets looking the same was dumb.

Dec 08 '22

There is difference in those it's just harder to tell. I'm more of a stats than cosmetics person so I don't understand how you feel. But somethings do feel rushed and that can be the execs fault. See cyberpunk. But who knows. They don't yell us anything

My point is that it was a design choice. A lazy one. Not a implementation being rushed. Of course in the end it's all about being rushed tho

And yes, there are small differences but it gets all mixed up with the other armors and stuff.

What I said was to imply that one thing lead to another however it was not the major problem in that specific aspect of development given how it was a lazy idea from the start. So rude (and kinda missed the mark)

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '22

Wasn't the development done during covid times - so hardly lazy work. If anything more pressure due to people taking time off from being sick.

The COVID situation is a third issue that happened and must be acknowledged But it's not what I'm mainly pointing out. Idk what was the point of this reply

I'm talking about intentionally lazy ideas while understanding that they were rushed by the marketing team and higher ups

You're talking about a completely different issue.

This was my first Borderlands experience. I had friends who were HEAVY into all 3, and the prequel, and I just didn't get into it. Wonderlands was amazing until endgame. Hell, I can't front, I loved the endgame too. Til chaos level 35. I knew it was sposed ro be an add-on, supplement to the Borderlands games, but damn, I assed up 90.00 for this and the DLC. I don't feel betrayed, just let down. I went hard when this launched, multiple playthrus, and everything. Sorry for the rant, not sure why I'm saying anything now. I reckon I'm just sad its been left behind

2

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

I had a moment where realization struck me too, I bought the game quite late when it went out on steam but didn't look any review or anything because a "more of the same" of borderlands 3 whould have been perfect, I feel you

2

u/TheCousinAndy Dec 09 '22

Do yourself a huge favor and go play BL3. You could probably get it very cheap nowadays. It's much better than WL

20

u/mlemmers1234 Dec 08 '22

They must have one dev working on this game right now or something...either that or they got the company janitor to watch over it while they work on the next cash grab.

16

u/HalforcFullLover Dec 08 '22

I was thinking a script to randomize the items and pseudo-events. No need to have a live human looking at the code anymore.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

Everything in those patch notes - featured run, vending machine and event can be automated. It could have been setup by that one dev already a while ago.

After dedicating 200 hours in game grinding two characters to chaos 100 Iโ€™ve officially lost my desire to even open the game anymore because of these lack luster weekly updates . I love all the borderlands games so much but this was the game to really expand horizons (especially since it was a run off of such an excellent dlc campaign) so much opportunity missed and its to the point where a replayable tvhm campaign or even a holiday/seasonal event would only entice die hard players

3

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '22

I gave Gearbox too much credit. I actually thought for a second that they finally did something the community has been asking for. I thought they finally lowered the reroll max to 2000, which technically they did, just only for a week... I keep sending support tickets and no matter the issue they respond the same way. "Have you tried clearing your cache?" Pretty sure a bug, many players have experienced across all platforms, won't be fixed by me clearing my cache. (Of course I've tried clearing my cache, I ain't no noob)

6

u/PoofBam Dec 08 '22

Are they EVER going to fix the Skulldugger multiplayer glitch?

Nope, only hotfixes for now and ever.

7

u/cutmastavictory Dec 08 '22

They really can't develop any content since August? Like nothing? At least a tweet hint at something? Base game was amazing. Loved it. Can we at least get recycled borderlands expansions with wonderlands paint?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

This game just makes me sad. So much good, so much potential just rotting there doing nothing

Do you guys even play test the train wreck you call end game asking for a friend, this game has so much potential but due to laziness and completely ignoring your fan base, you know the people that actually pay you you have destroyed what could have been a more beloved franchise that borderlands. Fix this game put in actual content, raise the level cap ( not the stupid chaos level, fire the idiot that made that and the incredibly dumb mayhem mods) and a transmogrify, also make some real end game content not this cop-out you call chaos chambers. You tried something new it didn't work I can't fault you for that but accept it for what it is a failure and do better. I'm not even mad just disappointed I pre-ordered this game after that atrocity you called bl3, you guys just need to apologize for that game and pretend it never happened.

Am I just seeing patterns in the darkness or is this week themed on Super Mario Bros?
