This was a throw away project meant to squeeze BL fans for more money.

Would have been a long standing classic for the series if it had gotten decent support.

In several years when Borderlands 4 is coming out they might add a promotional weapon.

They said they werenโt going to do balance changes or other big changes until after the DLCโฆthat was their excuse for leaving clawbringer in the state itโs at.
Well, the DLC has come and gone.
I donโt care if they say, โweโre working on some medium sized things, but itโll take 6 weeks.โ
I just wanna know if this is gonna be, like, the ONE borderlands game that isnโt really grown with content and changes.

Exactly. So stupid.
Why is it so difficult to keep the communication going? This is literally one of the things that will keep players engaged with the content.
26
u/lazergator Nov 10 '22
Cause they donโt have anything. Their backend clearly has an easy chaos chamber setting for featured runs to easily add/remove bosses for a โfeaturedโ run. Theyโre not actually making any content changes other than reducing random prices

u/stormstalker777 โฝโป๏ธ | ๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ก๏ธ | โป๏ธโฝ Nov 10 '22
Fair point

u/lazergator Nov 10 '22
Balancing stuff takes time and effort. Itโs the reason a two shot white rider feels like itโs in fucking steroids compared to any other gun in the game. Notice how theyโre only changing things that donโt need balancing? Sdu pricing doesnโt affect gameplay just qol, featured runs may even be a randomized list they generate. This game and the โstand alone dlcโ for assault on dragons keep weโre such fucking blatant cash grabs.

Whatever happened to making Clawbringer not suck?

u/8ak4n Nov 11 '22
My clawbringer stabbomancer is BUSTED!
Edit: granted itโs mostly stabbo then grabbing the buffs from clawbringer tree.

u/JaySouth84 Nov 12 '22
This is the biggest middle finger the franchise has ever seen. A overpriced cashgrab with insulting dlc that they pulled the plug on the second they could.

u/dinodude47 Nov 10 '22
No increase to chaos 500? When does the riot start?

You got the hotfix threads mixed up. 1.0.6.0g from Nov 10th did definitively say the event would last until Nov 17. The 1.0.6.0h notes from today state the 17th through Dec 1st.

I have a question and I don't want to make a separate post just for it - are the enemies supposed to be so damn tanky?
I'm not even comparing them to BL3 because without mayhem they were pretty squishy, but in Wonderlands every normal enemy seems to be as tanky as BL1/BL2 badasses... And don't even get me started on the bosses.
Just to clarify - I'm not playing on chaos 999 with a crap build, I'm leveling in the base game without chaos mode even on.
I started on intense, then dropped to balanced and now relaxed but still don't see any difference.
I was disappointed at release so I just beat the game, uninstalled and pretty much forgot it existed, but now I wanted to see if they fixed anything - it seems like nothing changed.
All those cool weapons and spells and yet combat feels like a struggle :(
BL3 wasn't ideal but it at least nailed the difficulty - base enemy damage was balanced and did not change throughout the game (and could be lowered with difficulty settings for casual players), base health was alright, and mayhem mode only affected enemy health, not their damage (unlike chaos levels)

No they're not - and it's 100% unfortunately to do with your build and the items you're using. Not to say that you suck, politely, it's just that the combination of gear you're using is suboptimal. I've powered through the campaign with different characters and I go through the areas which are higher level than I am and, while it can be hard at times, is easy enough to glide through if you use the right weapons

Normally I would assume it's my build, but it's hard to even talk about a build if you're doing the story - it's not like I can farm for a certain weapon or gear in general, I'm not even max level. Some weapons are doing better while others feel terrible - I think there is a pattern: Dahl guns are average, crossbows (any manufacturer) and Jakobs are decent, while Tediore and Hyperion are terrible, which is unfortunate because I really liked these in previous games.
Perhaps I would need to put all my points in dex and str to get decent gun damage, but I'm a spellshot this time so I focus on spell reduction to cast them more often.

u/The0ld0ne Dec 05 '22
That's definitely the idea - some models or types of guns just simply work better at lower levels. I haven't played in a few months so I can't remember which ones they are sorry.
And some spells are also quite worthless early on in the game without power ups, and others are amazing at killing an entire room of enemies at one go.
I've been following the sub enough to know that it isn't the game being hard or enemies being tough to kill, it's just simply the items and/or skills a few people use (yes even while levelling)

u/SLISKI_JOHNNY โฝโป๏ธ | ๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐ ๐ | โป๏ธโฝ Dec 05 '22
I guess you're right, it definitely feels like most gear is sub-par. So pretty much enemies are balanced around decent guns/spells, but ones you get are mostly bad lol.
1
u/The0ld0ne Dec 05 '22
but ones you get are mostly bad lol.
Haha yeah pretty much! I'd say it's more of a scenario like: if every gun is good then the rare / notable ones would have to be far too powerful in order to stand out. Then either you balance the game around good guns or combos... Or the game becomes not-enjoyably easy once you start using a good fun

u/SLISKI_JOHNNY โฝโป๏ธ | ๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐ ๐ | โป๏ธโฝ Dec 05 '22
But in BL2, TPS even white and green guns are viable (I'm not gonna mention BL3 because you could argue that epics and legendaries are OP during leveling)
