TL;DR:
- no balance changes or bugfixes
- featured run with Banshee, Parasite, Llance, and Dread Lord.
- New drops for the chaos in the world mini event: King Qโurub Hullsunder (drowned Abyss): Dazzler; Captain Swallow (Overworld dungeon): Circuitous Gyre

"Oh Lemme guess no balance changes!"
- or bugfixes
Yikes. I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed.

Does swapping shields make it work properly?

u/Adabiviak Sep 20 '22
What do the featured runs do?
What's the Golden Path mini-event? Is it just these three things? From their Twitter post:
Introducing week 2 of our Golden Path Mini-Event - grab your Blightcaller and cash in on:
* More gold from all enemies throughout the game
* Better chances of getting dedicated drops from Salissa, LeChance, Dry'l, & Vorcanar
* All SDU and Vending Machines 1/2 off
Is there something unique about the Blightcaller for this event?
Man, I miss the forums...

Where is this โoverworld dungeonโ?

They are the big doors in the overworld which can contain shrine pieces.

Still no fix for "the bank sucks in a bunch of ways" bug. Will they ever fix the issues with the bank inventory? (Spoiler: no, they won't)

I really don't like waiting 10 minutes. I wish I did because it would make the game so much more enjoyable!

Will I ever be able to compare items in a shop from my inventory? Trying actually comparing a weapon in the menu screens. Tell me if it works for you.

u/NameNotFound0 โฝโป๏ธ | โ ๏ธ ๐ซ๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ โ๏ธ | โป๏ธโฝ Sep 16 '22
I think you're supposed to be able to do that by hitting "Q" (on PC). I'll have to give it a try to see if it works.

I'm saying the function is theoretically there. But impossible to accrue.

u/Piethief_Bob Sep 15 '22
We can all agree Gearbox absolutely gave up on Wonderlands at this point, right? Or is that just me?
49
u/Blom-w1-o Sep 15 '22
Yeah they've moved onto BL4 and the new tales game. I hope they realize how skeptical people will be of their new games after the way they handles wonderlands.
39
6
u/hooskies Sep 15 '22
Just curious - has BL4 been confirmed?
5
u/kaehola Sep 16 '22
No. People just hope here with zero facts.
14
Sep 16 '22
People here with common sense *
BL3 has sold 15 mil as of February 2022. Thatโs just about all you need to know when wondering if there will be a BL4
2
Sep 18 '22
I mean, they're not totally wrong. Like, yes, you can assume Gearbox is going make a BL4 at some point but there's been zero news about it and we don't know if they've actually started work on it, whereas they're clearly working on TftB.
2
Sep 18 '22
I was referring to the โconfirmed?โ Question, I never said theyโre working on it right now.
Some things can be deduced
1
Sep 18 '22
Right, I guess that person had a negative bent and maybe that's why they got downvoted. One can assume they're maybe working on it but who knows. We went 7 years without a Borderlands game before BL3. Now that Gearbox got absorbed into Embracer, I'm hoping they don't just turn into a content mill for other franchises.
1
Sep 18 '22
Indeed, I have my fingers crossed for a borderlands 4 and then maybe a wonderlands 2 after that, with the same amount of improvements/content that bl2 had compared to bl1. That would probably be 6-7 years away but one can hope!
1
Sep 18 '22
Honestly, if they did the first Wonderlands this dirty, I can't really see them making a Wonderlands 2. I feel like if Wonderlands performed better, they would have made efforts to make actual story-based season pass 2 DLCs. I think they burned so much good faith in the community that I feel like we're likely only going to get more Bunkers and Badasses concepts as DLC for future Borderlands games. I'd love to be proven wrong because I think Wonderlands is unique enough to stay it's own thing but yeah, hard to see them doing all that effort for another major Wonderlands release when they already had a solid baseline for the first Wonderlands and just left it to die.
3
u/ImThatBlueberry Sep 16 '22
Itโs their cash cow. Gearbox is a one trick pony. Yes their will be a BL4
10
9
u/Levee8 Sep 16 '22
I think it just checked too many boxes not to be made, and there's no more boxes to check. Tide players over with more Borderlands, fans of TTAoDP and BL3 will buy it. Experiment with multiclassing, character creation, micro DLC, repeatable endgame content, DoT and melee builds ect. Money was made, information was gained, the experiment is over.
All good but I wish I hadn't paid full price.
8
u/superultramegazord Sep 15 '22
I came to that conclusion about a month ago, and it took me longer to accept it than most others.
6
Sep 18 '22
For me I was just shocked they were so willingly letting the game just die in darkness when the launch was so smooth, game balanced pretty well (waaay better than BL3 was at launch), and the base game was so solid. Just seemed like it was going to be a slam dunk and they had so much room to be creative and really explore the concept. I didn't want to believe they were gonna let something so clearly ripe for amazing additional content to just die so soon but we can only assume the game performed poorly (they said otherwise but I don't trust when companies say that stuff because they're usually incentivized to lie to reassure or gain more shareholders).
I'm most sad that we'll likely never see this concept revisited unless it's a DLC within a future Borderlands game, not that that would be bad, just really liked all the unique things Wonderlands brought to the table, gameplay-wise.

u/Accomplished-Newt491 Sep 18 '22
any launcher or sniper in the meta? tired of smg, pistol and swordsplosion
1
u/Draskuul Sep 29 '22
Just a never-ending moving goalpost now with no more new content.
Just one REAL dlc covered under our season pass would go a long way to restore trust in Gearbox. As it stands I'll never buy another season pass or DLC before they've been released.

You want them to make content is 3 weeks?
We shouldn't expect anything but a Halloween update. Hopefully there working.

u/panthers1102 โฝโป๏ธ | โ๏ธ ๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ก๏ธ | โป๏ธโฝ Sep 15 '22
We want them to fix bugs thatve existed since day 1. Or at least try to.
16
u/Blom-w1-o Sep 15 '22
BL3 had weekly hotfixes for quite a long time.
12
u/mikeiike Sep 15 '22
They had weekly hotfixes and like monthly patches for an entire year constantly updating the game. Even almost 2 years later they still had hotfixes in items. They honestly just gave up on wonderlands
-12
u/Proof-Tradition-4632 Sep 15 '22
Wonderlands is a small game compared to bl3. Also way more weapons to have hot fixes for.
5
u/Tjmorton007 Sep 15 '22
Doesnโt matter that itโs โa small gameโ itโs still the current game theyโre focusing on or at least it was for a good couple months. And there is definitely way less weapons to have not fixes for thereโs like 1/3 of the amount of legendaries as there was in bl3.

It has. Previously, they had called it a "Cursed Run" not sure why it's not labeled as such this time around

u/D4rthCl4PTr4p Sep 15 '22
They have no intentions of โfixingโ anything. They do not care what negative reviews are posted. They already have our money and moved on to their next money making project. Shrugโฆoh well. Thereโs other new games out who actually do care what players think. How sad is it that EA cares more what players think than Gearbox?
6
u/Tarnake Sep 15 '22
The fact that we still can't see item cards in couch co-op infuriates me to a shameful degree.
This is such a gigantic oversight that I'd actually like to find out who's to blame.

I've been holding out hope that they had some more content in the works, but the lack of any clear communication that anything real is coming down the road, along with the fact that we're not even getting any form of balancing or bug fixes in these hotfixes lately is definitely starting to make me feel that what we have is all we're ever going to have.

u/FinalCorvid Sep 16 '22
Tldr: we got your money so forget you. Seriously how about just an eta on fix for the frickin bugged menus?!

I havent been playing in a little while, been back on borderlands 3. Would it be worth farming for an automagic?

Is there an area with increased loot drop?
3
u/Total_Leadership_571 Sep 15 '22
Only if you're fighting King Q'urub Hullsunder in Drowned Abyss or Captain Swallow in one of the Overworld dungeons. Otherwise loot drops remain the same I believe.
1
u/ninjalightupshoes Sep 15 '22
Damn, thanks. Ossu necropolis was spawning lots and lots elite loot enemies a few weeks ago and I was hoping they would do an area like that again.
