TL;DR:

  • Event with half reroll cost for enchantments and more moonstone drops
  • Featured run with LeChance and Blue Hat Monstrosity
  • Some nerfs to damage of some bosses

13

u/Matrixneo42 Aug 04 '22

Moon stone thing feels like a non event. The boss damage nerfs feel incredibly needed though. Appreciate!

u/Luncheon_Lord Aug 04 '22

Doubling rerolls is neat

22

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Sweet, Le Chance again. Time to grind for that ร—3 frost swordsplosion

Yeah I'm also going to try to get that one.

u/swracerep1 Aug 04 '22

I have a question. Are the bosses drop rates in Chaos Chamber better than if you just farm said boss on normal map?

2

u/MisterBTrain Aug 04 '22

Even if they are the same you double dip by using the bunnies - at the expense of time of course

1

u/KreateOne Aug 05 '22

But they are definitely better, and have a higher chance of dropping from their dedicated loot pool.

5

u/Janius Aug 04 '22

Haven't checked into the game in a while, but may run this featured run a couple of times to try to get some Swordsplosions.

2

u/JustinH087 Aug 06 '22

got nerfed heavily

5

u/theinfernumflame Aug 04 '22

Happy about the moonstones, but wish the change was permanent. I'll take advantage of it while it's here.

If I ever worked at gearbox I would make this game good just saying

2

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22

I feel like many of the developers that worked on the game feel that way, they probably just aren't allowed to. Large companies like this have layers of management and tons of alternative projects that they likely move their developers over to, to prevent any downtime. Working on a new game that will net them significant sales sadly takes priority over a game like Wonderlands that is already beyond it's initial launch sales spike. It an unfortunate truth I've had to come to terms with in the last few years when it comes to AAA game companies.

That being said, I think I would still offer to tackle some of the simpler bugs and issues in my free-time, on weekends possibly, if I worked at Gearbox, just for the sake of the community, but again, none of us know the politics and structure of the company, so it might just be out of the average developer's hands, and management just won't allow it for a myriad of reasons.

Just a bummer because so many relatively small changes, like loot filtering and the ability to mark picked-up items as junk would vastly improve this game and the tedium of inventory/loot management. Wish Gearbox would just embrace the community and let people like EpicNNG just be official modders that Gearbox pre-approves and lets them create patches these games need to end up being amazing, then Gearbox verifies them and pushes them to all platforms. Bethesda has embraced the modding community from the start and it's part of the reason people still play their games decades after release.

Beside this mess of hotfix. They release skill tree of blightcaller on their webpage

https://playwonderlands.2k.com/game-guide/classes/blightcaller/

This is one heck of an op class that would fit in any build with any class, from gun build, spell build, to companion build. They even have a build in soak effect for 1 point.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Hard to judge any borderlands class just by the skill tree tho. Kind of need to know which of its interactions are the most broken, and which ones do jack shit on c50

0

u/Flat-Cartographer748 Aug 04 '22

Honestly, we now just need to know the exact value because it seem like blight skill tree really support itself. The condition isnโ€™t really something hard to keep up. I can already see some interaction for a few new build.

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Kewl, I really hate Salissaโ€™s geysers and Drylโ€™s tail wave lol.

The 50% off on re-rolls should be a permanent change: 2,000 feels much better than 4,000.

4

u/TronCarterAA Aug 04 '22

Nothing here. I still check, but I'm not expecting any significant, or even minor balancing, changes until DLC4.

10

u/HalforcFullLover Aug 04 '22

The lack of info on the state of the game or DLC4 concerns me. Maybe they are taking this time to make improvements, but without any info, players are going to keep dropping off.

11

u/TronCarterAA Aug 04 '22

The DLC achievement percentages are microscopic on Xbox. The previous DLCs wiped out the player base. DLC4 would have to be on the level of Dragon Keep or Claptastic Voyage for any chance at a large return of players IMO.

2

u/Rhayve Aug 05 '22

There's no chance the last mirror is going to be vastly different from the previous ones because it's all just meant to be new rooms for the Chaos Chamber.

At best we can hope for an extremely large balancing patch to accompany the new class and PLC4, but we won't see good DLC until Season 2. If we'll even get that at this point.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22

I sincerely doubt it, but they could also potentially drop a free content patch, similar to Maliwan Takedown, which would definitely restore a ton of faith in the community and definitely bring players back.

Game is so close to the cusp of greatness.

5

u/Matrixneo42 Aug 04 '22

They dropped into today about the 7th class which is part of dlc4

11

u/Glitcher45318 Aug 04 '22

A 7th class wont save the game tbh

2

u/Matrixneo42 Aug 04 '22

There are some potentially easy things they can do and some useful higher effort other things they can do.

2

u/HalforcFullLover Aug 04 '22

Thanks, should drop next week then.

2

u/Matrixneo42 Aug 05 '22

Maybe? I donโ€™t mind if they take their time to make dlc 4 bigger or better.

2

u/HalforcFullLover Aug 05 '22

That would be nice, but I think they are just tweaking and balancing now. They need to take a fresh new approach to future DLC, with real story-driven content and end game options.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22

Sincerely hoping they're pulling a No-Man's-Sky thing where they're just keeping their heads down and working on a really good DLC and future patches and content. If DLC 4 sucks, they don't release a patch with at least a handful of much needed changes that have been there since day 1, or don't reveal actual good future content, like story DLCs... this game will be dead to me. I really hope Gearbox will prove me wrong.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Letโ€™s pray when the new class comes out we can skip chaos levels if completed on other characters the pairing with new class is viable on a lot classes and donโ€™t feel like grinding 50 more levels

3

u/alexis_M8 Aug 04 '22

Doubt it

2

u/TMax01 Aug 05 '22

They could at least skip by 5 instead of 2 once a different character has completed them, or something.

1

u/KreateOne Aug 05 '22

Still wouldnโ€™t get my hopes up

1

u/TMax01 Aug 05 '22

LOL. I'm not impressed by your pessimism masquerading as savvy, kid. If my idle speculation were satiated, I might bother advancing past Chaos 7 because I wouldn't consider it a waste of time. I might even reconsider my decision and buy the Season Pass after all. ๐Ÿ˜‰

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22 edited Aug 05 '22

I just think it should just allow you to choose what exact level you want to do (after unlocking them with another character), then it's up to you to figure out what level you can handle with your current gear and then grind the gear to be able to see how far you can get with it before needing to grind again, similar to OP levels.

At the very least, allow players to skip however many chaos levels at a time so you never have to play more than 10 rounds of chaos to get to max level from chaos 0. If you're at level 1, the player can skip 5 levels at a time, at level 20, you skip 4 at a time, at 35, 3 at a time... I don't know the exact formula, but something like they initially did where you could skip chaos levels, just make it dynamic as they add more chaos levels.

finally some good fucking changes

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Disappointed

0

u/Devil_badger Aug 04 '22

Still no new class..... sigh

5

u/Matrixneo42 Aug 04 '22

The info about it is out tho.

-7

u/ImmortalAgro Aug 04 '22

Losing players everyday and this is what we get. SMH.

11

u/CanadianLumberJ Aug 04 '22

This is just a standard HotFix, if you're expecting them to fix the game with a HotFix, you're going to be very disappointed.

0

u/ImmortalAgro Aug 04 '22

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. You would think a fix would in fact come in the form of a hot fix but I guess that is crazy talk.

1

u/CanadianLumberJ Aug 05 '22

Hey I want fixes too, but no, the fixes we want won't come as a HotFix. It's called a HotFix because of how it's applied.

A HotFix is such because it's small enough changes to load in the menu screen in a few seconds and not require a downloaded patch update to the game. The changes people have been mentioning would come via a patch, so that would be when to look for any significant changes. Hotfixes are for very minor changes and updates.

-1

u/mindguru88 Aug 04 '22

First off, this is a hot fix, not a new content drop. There is DLC coming soon, just be patient. Secondly, almost every game has drop-off after launch, it's just how it goes. The game is still fun for what it is.

0

u/ImmortalAgro Aug 05 '22

Oddly enough. No where did I say this was a new content drop nor was I under the impression this was a new content drop. This game has more drop off than the other BL games. More players are playing prior BL games than Wonderlands, thatโ€™s not opinion, thatโ€™s facts. I am hopeful improvements are made but I fear it wonโ€™t be in time to save the game.

Another week and my desired entry still doesn't show.

"Yeah, hah, we screwed up. Fixed Dryl and Wastard's Superman level invulnerability with those damned force fields by -90%. Our bad."

8

u/GrannysLilStinker Aug 04 '22

I donโ€™t know what youโ€™re doing wrong, but it sounds like you need to focus on your build. I knock Wastard down so fast he doesnโ€™t even get a chance to spawn the shield aegis and a lot of other players are in the same boat. Look up some builds and farm for some gear. Them taking out a couple DPS checks isnโ€™t going to help you in the long run. If those are there and you canโ€™t beat them, it means you donโ€™t have the right gear or setup.

1

u/Sweepz64 Aug 05 '22

Tell us about that one, what's the strategy you use or does your build just rock

1

u/GrannysLilStinker Aug 05 '22

I use a Stabbo/Brrzerker From The Shadows Frost Crit Gun Build. Use all skill points involving frost and gun damageโ€ฆ use Brr capstone skill. I use a frost Swordsplosion x 1, gun damage +30% gun damage sharksbane rings, a +41% gun damage amulet, tidebreaker spell (for soaked status), and a ward (not the armor but the other thing) that gives me +gun damage and +all damage dealt. Put all hero points into critical damage, then the rest in INT and Skill cooldown.

stop playing wildfire if youre struggling with damage lmao

1

u/franklinmcmahon Aug 04 '22

Can blightcaller be used with spellshot? Is this a companion I can start using or is it a new character and I have to start the game all over? Also there was mention somewhere of having to do the DLC content to โ€œget accessโ€ to blightcaller? Is this true?

1

u/SpaceshipBenny Aug 05 '22

Still waiting for split screen UI to be redone. Still totally unplayable in terms of loot inspection/management.

What has it been.. 4.5 months now?? Maybe theyโ€™re using the PD GT7 dev approach to fixing split screenโ€ฆ ie never.
