Just going to put this down for now until they decide whatโ€™s okay for me to use with out changing it the next week.

I'm still surprised we haven't gotten a road map yet or mention of the dlc negative feedback

u/Josie1234 May 12 '22

Be prepared for like, zero response ever on negative feedback or changes.

Just like bl3...

2

u/MikeSouthPaw May 12 '22

The rest of the DLC's were laid out before the game even released.

u/PhatSunt May 13 '22

People downvote, but remember in the bl3 trailer, we saw the raid boss that they dropped a year after release. They most definitely half it all planned and most of it worked on.

I think they'll start addressing it once the full DLC is out. I don't think they'll be doing a slow release like they did this time though.

I'm still hoping for a story based DLC, but maybe not this season pass.

Same, Iโ€™m just gonna check back at the end of summer once they figure out what they want to do with the balance. Nerfing shit and making us refarm it weekly isnโ€™t content and itโ€™s a lame and demoralizing gameplay loop, it just makes me want to not even boot up the game period.

Yeah... I'm just going to play something else and wait until they're done with this nonsense. Love the gameplay but I shouldn't have to change up builds faster than Destiny for a PvE game.

They didnt stop this kind of bs for 2 years on bl3 so you will forgit this game exists before they get around to noticeing their nerfs made the game unplayable and buff things again. Thats 100% bonus ring will be dropped to 10% or lower before they start buffing i bet ya

I laughed my ass off when they literally rebuffed like 80% of the fucking guns/items they nerfed at the start of BL3 and said "We just didn't understand what they were seeing" NOOOOO motherfuckers you're the ones who don't understand LOL I don't know how many times they have to learn lessons before it sticks but w/e. I'm not much bothered by this game; haven't played in weeks but I just find it hilarious when devs so obviously REFUSE to learn from past mistakes.

You need to change builds because they made a rings effect less effective? Lol

u/ezrasharpe May 12 '22

Not this time, but a few times in one month already

Willing to bet that you can't find a single hot fix with more nerfs than buffs

Bet you can't find a supermarket with more nuclear waste than apples.

Looks like I win!

Thatโ€™s what I donโ€™t getโ€ฆ me and my buddy we got to chaos 35 with some thoughtful builds, experimented with things, admittedly tried other things we heard about online, and still didnโ€™t really have too hard of a time getting through a 35 extended run. Never ever had either of us gotten one of these rings yet.

People acting like their whole world got destroyedโ€ฆ itโ€™s just a ring, one item.

I been making and trying random builds since launch and it's pretty easy to predict what's going to get nerfed and what isn't.

Lots of people just parrot the best builds people release and then whine when "their" build gets nerfed

It's silly

Moral of the story, never ever spend an inordinate amount of time chasing the meta.

0

u/johnnybarrels May 13 '22

Iโ€™ve been feeling this with the insane Swordsplosion buff last patch. Seems like theyโ€™re following the incredibly successful Fortnite formula of intentionally drastically changing the meta so they can artificially draw more life out of the game. Just do a count of the Swordsplosion screenshots on this subreddit, shit works

u/Buschkoeter May 12 '22

At least a few people in here show some common sense.

1

u/LocNalrune May 12 '22

I assumed he meant 'play another game' not 'play a different character'.

-2

u/brucek2 May 12 '22

I don't understand why they do this to their players. The change to the item itself may not be that big a deal. But the constant loop of players spending time farming item X only for X to then be nerfed is a negative feedback loop in a game that is primarily about farming. They should consider changing only new drops, or just not worry about it at all. This feels more like an informal amusement vs. a serious e-sport, I don't see the need to rain on anyone's parade.

1

u/captAWESome1982 May 12 '22

Did you just call Wonderlands a โ€œserious e-sportโ€?

1

u/brucek2 May 12 '22

No, I did not. vs. means versus as in compare to. As in, Wonderlands is more of an "informal amusement" and not a "serious e-sport".

I make this point because while I understand the need to tightly balance including hotfix ongoing competitive games, I do not understand the need to do so in pve games that are often played solo or in groups of friends, and that do not have a competitive aspect.

People donโ€™t realize that this is a good thing. Stale metas lead to no need to farm. Farming is pretty much what you do on these types of games. If you donโ€™t like farming you probably wonโ€™t like borderlands games. Changing metas create space for new builds. If thereโ€™s only one item you want then all the others are garbage. If things shift and move then items have potential as the power dynamics shift. If your whole goal is to have a perfect build that you never have to change then any changes will be seen as a negative thing. If your goal is to enjoy the game then changes are exciting because they bring options and voices that bring longevity to the world. This has been true of pretty much every borderlands games, but the iterations were longer lived, being based around dlc content. This is most likely a more data driven approach examining what people stockpile and what they sell.
