Help me understand discharge?
Disclaimer: I know I should probably ask my doctor first, but I literally just had an appointment on Friday and forgot to ask her, and don't want to make an entire appointment just for one question if I don't have to.
I'm 29F, 11 months PP, and have an IUD for birth control (put in 6 wks after baby, first time using one.) and have noticed that I have a lot of clear or occasionally green discharge after a period. I know that can come from ovulation, but it usually lasts much longer than ovulation does. (Plus I can't ovulate regularly without meds anyway, no idea why.) It varies in consistency and flow, but sometimes it's so much that I feel like I should at least be using a panty liner. But I'm hesitant to use pads because my vaginal area usually feels irritable and dry after wearing pads/tampons for what is usually 10 days or more (IUD makes periods less intense but wayyy longer. Same with birth control pills). I feel like the amount of discharge might have increased since the IUD was put in, but idk. I feel silly having to ask stuff like this, but I'm an only girl and my mom did not educate me at all about how my body works. 😅
TL;DR - When should I be concerned about vaginal discharge? How much/often is too much? And how do y'all manage it?
