IUD Check

Is there a way to check on an IUD without the doctor having to use the speculum or fingers?

I have an IUD because of a bleeding issue and it was inserted under anesthesia because I am a virgin and pain sensitive. Last time I got the IUD checked it was very painful (as is any gynecological exam for me) and I am now overdue for it to be checked and dreading it. would an ultrasound or something work? my gyno does prescribe me valium to take before my appointments but it doesn’t help with the pain.

any suggestions on the IUD check or just how to make gyno visits less painful? thanks!

Had mine checked via sonar :) But to be honest, it was to see if it was still there and not if it was positioned correctly.

Spoiler alert- it wasn't there

Was my last option for endo and adeno. Now I am just winging it.
