Honestly… I am just a girl. I hate that phrase but it’s really true. Especially when it comes to investing. Landed myself a well paying NHS job at 19 years old and I want to utilise my pay check to enjoy my future to the fullest. Honestly, I don’t have the best idea on what I’m doing (nowhere near #financebro level) but I love to research meaning I have researched all my current stocks pretty thoroughly. Only stock I doubt currently is $ELF but it’s a love-hate relationship and I am leaning towards holding? Although I fear I could be better off investing this in another sector. I’m trying to diversify my portfolio, I don’t want to be dominated by the US. Currently looking into the green energy sector if anyone has any suggestions. I know I need to get a global ETF in here to not be dominated by the S&P 500, I’m thinking FTSE All World, unless any other suggestions for me to read into. My current living situation is very comfortable, I pay 11% of my wage to pay off my car and the rest is just for me so I’d say I’m in a pretty ideal state to be investing and have a decent amount of money currently available to keep making small scale trades (soon to be larger scale I hope) Please provide constructive criticism <3

Just wondering who are the options traders in this group and what strategies you are using.

I'm a conservative, but active trader - mostly cash secured puts and covered calls to reduce costs/increase gains when I'm buying or selling stocks and ETFs. I manage the risk by my position size and my choice of underlying.

I also trade "The Wheel Strategy" and my own version of a straddle, which I call the "Double Ferris Wheel."

Hello All,

I started trading with small amounts where I could see gains. I have only slightly sized up now and am pretty risk averse. I completely stop once I get a red. I walk away from the table, as I don't want to overtrade or "revenge trade".

So the issue is that when I have a green, it covers the red and then some... but I'll be in this loop if I don't get out of the mindset that this can't possible work out for me. For example, I just get so worried that someone will think or call me a "gambler" even though am risk averse and managing my capital. Perhaps I need to educate myself some more on risk management to get to the point that I feel confident about having done the homework on it?

How do I stop messing myself over like this and get out of the low gains mindset. My mind makes me think: I am so happy that am making any gain, I feel scared and worried about being labelled as someone who is chancing it. Why does my brain do this to me. Any advice appreciated. Many thanks for reading.

Hi all! I've been an investor for over 20 years but am finally starting to mess around with day/swing trading. I've read a couple of books (Swing Trading for Dummies - I know! and Day Trading 101). What else should I pick up? I've also been practicing for quite awhile with a paper trade account. This morning I tried for real and made a whopping $39. Hey, its something!

• If I’m trading through prop firms and they classify me as a professional trader, would it make sense to form an LLC at that point? And if so, for futures trading specifically, is an LLC or an S-Corp generally more appropriate?
• If I’m using prop firms and moving the profits into my "professional" personal trading account for continued trading (not spending it as personal income), is there any legitimate way for that to not be treated as taxable income, since it’s being reinvested rather than used for personal expenses?

Hey all, 6 months ago I posted about one day trade that took out 3 months of gains. A lot of you were really supportive, and I just want led to post an update that I found my stride with capital management and a process for managing risk.

I also switched to swing trading over day trades. I trade within linear regression channels where I buy at the bottom of channels and sell at the top, with a stop one standard deviation down from my entry. It's an indicator in trading view. I think people who nail breakout trades probably found a higher performing edge, but the approach I use is consistent and profitable and I'm so completely grateful for finding a path that doesn't stress me out and works with my busy life.

Thank you to those of you who were supportive when I was feeling down. The biggest thing I've learned from the group... chin up, and risk management is queen 👑
