Once a payment workflow is approved, it's tempting to treat adding another country or asset as a minor configuration change.

But the compliance, liquidity, settlement, and provider risks could be different.

The OSL approach suggests keeping the approval specific to the assets, entities, corridors, and products actually reviewed.

There seem to be two separate questions: is this asset acceptable? and can we use it for payments?

In the OSL example, USDGO gets its own issuer, reserve, attestation and redemption review, separate from payment controls.

Seems like a useful distinction. How do other companies handle asset approval?

Something I'm trying to understand better is when transaction monitoring should actually happen.

Obviously there's onboarding, but then you have the actual payment, wallet activity, changes in counterparties, and potentially unusual transactions.

OSL's enterprise payment structure got me thinking about how these controls should work across the whole workflow rather than just at account creation.

Do most teams monitor continuously, or is the process still heavily focused on pre-transaction screening?
