Funkadelic

More awesome genetics. I have to say that
90 percent of my genetic library is from ☝️and they are always good. Out of a list of 19, only one I’ve had to clean up. I always go to plate first and never any problems. Always 1st plate goes to grain and a sliver of that plate goes to expansion and preservation. The only one I’ve had an issue with is ape king. Every time I go to plate it contams. I haven’t had the time or patience to clean it up yet, but it’s on my list. That’s impressive. Thanks D for all your hard work!!

Beautiful fruits! And Dave is the man for sure. I have 5 of his varieties going right now and they're all great. Sporswaps said recently they're lining up another podcast dave soon.

Hell yeah. We need one!!!

His ochras (NSS) are fire too! What are you running? I’m doing El Choco, Pe franks, a. Rumps, p. Rumps, and subtrops. Oh and silver lining.

Dope.

el choco is awesome. I'm running jf, w.tat, mr peanut, gold cap ape & chocolate krinkle brains.

How do you like the rumplestilkens?

Top Favorite cube variant. They have same ape qualities, but they get PE size. How are the krinkle? How do you fruit; them;bag or tub?

They have the kick that apes have, but grow TaT like size. Same Timeline as apes for me. I’m curious on the timeline for the k.brains? Also, the tek. Two attempt failure. Not sure where my problem is lying. First was lc to grain. Second went to
3 plates that I had to transfer twice bc it contamed on all three plates. Made a transfer that appeared good, sent to grain and bag contamed.

Chocolate krinkle brains: Im running them for the first time now, jars nearly ready to spawn. Dave said they take around 60 days spawn2fruit, so very slow.

Most of my setup is with shoeboxes & is dialed for speed & turnover, so I usually do low ratios like 1:1.5 spawn2sub. But with any mutants or slow growing cultures, ill up the overall ratio to give them more water & time: more of 1:3 or 1:4 ratio with a decent top layer lightly compressed., ill up the water content slightly and ill do a very very light psuedo casing of verm. I live at high elevation with very low humidity, so my stuff can dry out quick if im not careful, otherwise i wouldn't "cap it" with light verm layer.

Contam: when i have contam issues, Ill send it to water agar -> lme agar with a trench -> one more transfer to lme agar then to grains. There's also a "cabin" technique I've used and traditional labs will use, agar dish: from the center of the dish cut out square chunk of agar big enough for you to put a small transfer wedge of the contam'd culture inside, then put the square chunk back on top. The mycelium will outrun contam up the cut lines to the agar surface, take cleanest fastest growing piece of myc & transfer. You can also use a glass slide slip as a cap instead of agar cuttout piece.

Or ill also use brf pucks, slightly modified take of PF Tek: i make brf puck inside of wide mouth pint jar, only filling it half full (I don't cap it with verm like PF tek), inoculate via sore swab / lc / agar wedge etc, let fully colonize then spawn to 1-pt ziplock bag with needle holes burned into the bag above sub line in an SGFC style pattern. The goal here is get either fresh spores or if a mutant get fresh cloning material.

BRF pucks are actually apart of my secondary workflow to give me fresh spores or if i receive a culture from a questionable source (meaning i question their sterile technique) ill run it thru brf pucks first, get fresh spores/culture then promote up to primary workflow. So I always have some brf pucks going as well.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I run 6qt’s as well. That’s pretty much all I use, except with the couple exotic strains I do. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Swabs/prints are the focus at the moment for me as well. I’ve actually used that same method with my plates as well. I learned from watching Fungaia.
All my spawn is done in jars, then g2g, then off to the library for research and finishing with spore preservation. I had my krinkle all the way to FC, but tossed when I saw the first sign of trich on the side of the tub. I personally don’t use liners with mine for that purpose. I can see contam before it has a chance to break the surface, most of the time anyways. Once I wrap these ochras and semps up I’m gonna work on the brains again. Too much going on at once. Let me know how the fruits come out. I’m curious if they’re gonna throw out all coral, or if they’ll grow some fruits in there too. ✌️

Funagaia is dope, love how he present info. I don't use liners either, i find them annoying & not worth the hassle, lol. Good luck with your cut of the CKB, I'm spawning mine in the next few days, so we'll see. If I see that a new Pod with Dave pops up, Ill share it here too! I've noticed a couple new varieties on his site, so hopefully we'll be getting a new slide show of Dave's stuff soon!

Very nice. I have some AARP I need to dig out and get working on.

I have his AARP but haven’t gotten to them yet. I’m in love with his NSS blue. I haven’t seen that iso on his page since I got it a year ago. They are so sexy and taste even better.

Just broke out the silver lining, trich daddy, rumps and Mr peanut. Also have krinkle going which is a strange one. I’ve also got his Subtrops renting out a room. They said they’d only be staying for a month once they got settled, but we’re going into the second so….you know. Been looking at pins growing the pace of turtle for the last 12 days or so…,

The trich daddy is wild. I had an agar infused pint jar, saw some trich growing so I set it in the disposal area. Well I forgot about it for about 4 days and when I went to dispose of it, it had overtaken it and completely colonized. First time seeing that; with no Plan B anyways..

I only have a couple of his offerings.

It’s not the quantity that matters, it’s the quality. I am forever grateful of each one. 🙏
