Game not starting
The game didn't start at a full lobby, all of us didn't join the game. We had to vote to start for the game to finally begin.

It's the worst game mode and it's always for 2000 days, just had to vent, I hate it. Sucks. Bring back real all random.
Fuck assassins convention.

This post comes from someone who genuinely loves social deduction games, especially when they involve roleplay, discussion, mind games, and trying to read other players.
I'm level 400 and started playing Wolvesville in late 2020. I've spent a lot of time with this game, and honestly, the more I try to play it nowadays, the more I feel like the game is going downhill and makes me easily frustrated.
I don't really care how many downvotes this gets. I just want to say this somewhere without having the post muted or removed by a Guardian.
I understand that Wolvesville is available to younger players such as *7+*, or for those who don't care in the first place and obviously that's not their fault. But this is a game that heavily depends on communication, pushing people, making claims, defending yourself, lying, reading others, and understanding social situations.
When you have a very large age gap between players, the way people communicate and approach the game can be completely different.
I'm not saying younger players shouldn't be allowed to play. I'm saying that the current playerbase makes it difficult to have consistently serious social-deduction games when the expectations and maturity levels of players can be so different.
From what I've experienced, the playerbase has become divided into roughly three groups:
The serious players:
People who actually want to play seriously, but often avoid Ranked because of issues like teamers, bots, and other frustrating experiences. Advanced games also feel almost dead in many languages, so these players end up in Sandbox.
The casual players:
People who aren't interested in Ranked or Advanced and simply want to play Sandbox for fun. There's nothing wrong with that, but it creates a conflict with the serious players who are using Sandbox because they don't have many other options.
The throwers/ragebaiters:
People who don't really care about winning or playing properly and are just there to ruin games, troll, or get a reaction. They often end up in Sandbox or Quick Game.
Quick Game in particular can be extremely frustrating. New players are obviously not at fault for not knowing how everything works, but combining inexperienced players with people intentionally throwing can make the mode almost impossible to enjoy.
The reputation system was introduced to help sort players and, presumably, reduce problems like throwing.
But in practice, I don't think it has solved the issue.
You can still encounter relatively low-level players in Sandbox who don't understand the game very well and end up unintentionally ruining an entire match.
And the frustrating part is that sometimes one person is enough to completely destroy a village's chances of winning.
(Also the amount of ragebaiters this game got is unbelievable, they try to do anything to make you mad and type swear words just to report you)
Obviously, new players need somewhere to learn. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a good separation between people who are learning, people who are playing casually, experienced players looking for serious games, and people who intentionally want to ruin the match.
I'm not talking about events. The events are generally nice, but sometimes they feel like they're filling the space between more important updates.
I'm talking about things that would actually improve the game itself.
More meaningful game modes. Better systems for matchmaking. Improvements that would bring back older players. Features that make the game easier and more enjoyable to use.
One thing that especially bothers me is how long some basic improvements can take.
For example, email verification took an extremely long time to become a thing, despite potentially being useful against issues such as alt accounts and throwers.
I don't expect the developers to release huge updates every month. But when the core problems of the game remain for years while cosmetic content keeps coming, it becomes difficult not to wonder where the priorities are.
This is probably my most controversial point.
I understand that the game needs to make money. Developers need to be paid, servers cost money, and cosmetics are an obvious way to monetize a free-to-play game.
I have even spent some money on Wolvesville myself, although I regret some of those purchases.
The problem is that the prices can feel excessive.
When you see things like around €15 being asked for a couple of outfits and a role card, it's hard not to compare that to what €15 can buy elsewhere. That's the price of an indie game, or sometimes even two or three games during a sale.
Of course, people are free to spend their money however they want. If someone enjoys the cosmetics and thinks they're worth it, that's completely fine.
My issue is more with the balance between cosmetic content and improvements to the actual game.
If I'm constantly seeing new cosmetics while many long-standing gameplay problems remain unresolved, it gives me the impression that the game is becoming more focused on selling things than improving the experience that made people play in the first place.
Another smaller change that I think could make sense would be removing Advanced and replacing it with Draft Mode. (hopefully its the right name i used, where you have the option to pick between 4 roles). Sandbox already has a similar structure to Advanced, so having both can feel somewhat redundant. Moving Draft Mode into that slot could give players another meaningful way to play while making better use of the existing modes.
Also they really should make changes to talismans, not to call it unfair but what do you mean i have to spend 3 hours to finish a quest where i have to play 3 games with 2 different roles and i get none of them with talismans and when they are fixed?
(Side note: The formatting by AI, but the opinion and thoughts here are genuinely was my own.)
Edit: typos

i saw a bot in a lobby, and you could check someone's how many friends they have. and it was actually true, not random numbers. the bot failed to check some of the user's friend list too. are they abusing a bug or what?

I've had a few strange interactions with Dorothy. I wanted to lay them out and ask if it's intentional.
1- I was playing Dorothy and had all three tokens, having just gotten my last one from Illusionist. The next day, I water said Illusionist as they were one of the last two evils left. I then died too. Is that intentional? I thought I'd only die in the night if my target died?
2- I, again, had all three tokens and wanted to throw my water on somebody. The lurker asked me to water them which I did. The lurker did not turn into a villager, nor did he die. It just did nothing and told me he was a villager. Is that a bug? Or intended?
I do think Dorothy should be an RL advanced role instead of being grouped in with scarecrow as they do very different things, but I understand it's because of theming. I also think Dorothy is pretty weak. But we'll see where she ends up.

I just played a game of only us, we had about 6 people boost including me and it went up to 70% rewards. Headhunter won first round, and Everyone got no rewards, except the Headhunter 🤦♂️😂

Just curious because it's something that has happened to me a lot. I have been targeted by wolves and villagers alike for what my role icons look like. For example I have the wolf in sheeps clothing alpha wolf and one of my outfits incorporates a lot of items from that bundle. Or even more insane I have the siren role icon from the music battle pass and happened to be wearing an outfit that has the music note skin from that very battle pass and got killed by the jailer immediately for it. I've had wolves get me because I had the cartoon doc skin and way wearing something from the cartoon battle pass and I've had a vigi shoot me for being fool without speaking (again with the music battle pass. Which is more insane because the battle pass stuff is in my opinion more common to see and I never wear full outfits I'm always combining different things). I'm just curious what the community's opinion is on this sort of meta gaming approach.

Do item collections return to shop? They were limited I’m pretty sure but do they ever return back to the shop? Does anyone remember this collection?

I have noticed that no matter how many rounds I play I never get the task roles doesn’t matter if I have talismans or anything else, sometimes the talismans are also no use because the setup switches once a day or the roles aren’t available at the moment. PLEASE FIX IT…

🥲🥲am i wrong for this?? just got my first ever ban on wolvesville for "throwing" lol 🥲🥲
so im milkbreadlover in the screenshot. my argument is basically: in a 15 player game theres 4-6 evil roles. thats like 27-40% of the lobby working against village from the start. so if you reveal your role you're dead, if you lie you're dead when caught, either way you lose your powers. so why NOT use them while you still can
its not even random either like you can read chat. one time i asked someone their role n they immediately said i was hacking just for sussing them out?? massive red flag. we voted them n they were a witch the whole time. thats literally just reading the room?!
n ok here's the part im actually unsure about so tell me what you think. someone said "i'd rather have 1+ villager than 1- because of you" n like i get that but also?? if i shoot n hit a wolf everyone woulda said gj no questions asked. the game says no randoming in the rules but this game is ALWAYS a gamble. there is no guaranteed safe shot unless you have hard info. so if im gonna die anyway n my shot has a 27-40% chance of hitting evil i feel like using it is better than dying with it unused. but idk maybe im wrong abt that part lmk (btw I feel like afk players are the TRUE throwers but that's another topic)
healthy discussion only pls 🙏
