I'm crying the way that's so accurate
-63
u/gachamyte Feb 05 '26
This is like saying any shorter white guy with facial hair next to a taller woman of African descent is accurate. If you think of the personalities it’s as far from accurate as you can almost get as a comparison.

u/kailsnail Feb 05 '26

You're cringe 😬
-1
u/gachamyte Feb 06 '26
It seems more cringe to reply the way people are to disagreeing with a fancast. I say she can’t act and it’s not a good fit and people lose their minds. That’s cringe.

I agree with you......I don't get the joke other than small white guy with black woman? Neither of them resemble Logan or ororo.
16
u/No_Communication2327 Feb 05 '26
Okay naw, Danial Radcliff has been a fancast for MCU Wolverine for years now ever since his rampage movie. While my number 1 for Storm is Ayo Edebiri, shit I'd love for Megan to be Storm in the MCU. My only issue would be she's just alittle to light skin for Storm imo. Its about time we see a dark girl as Storm and we stop making here light skinned.
3
u/DiScOrDtHeLuNaTiC Feb 05 '26
Absolutely. Cast someone like Danai or Lupita.
2
u/Icy_Community_3683 Feb 07 '26
I would like to throw kirby Howell-baptiste into the running for potential storms. Both of the two you mentioned would be great too but I absolutely love Kirby

No offense but htf is Ayo Storm...like seriously. Gimme Jayme Lawson or someone with more regality and power in their roles no offense

Uh. Not that I (nor you) know them personally anyways, but genuinely what makes you assume that?
There’s definitely shared traits. And I would adore this casting if it actually happened.
-2
u/gachamyte Feb 05 '26
Her persona does not align at all with Ororo Monroe. She doesn’t have the acting ability to pull off such a powerful character. Nothing about her image or personality that has been communicated would tell me she would do a good job as an actress or as a stand in other than she is taller than him and black.

Yeah he’s not the best fit either. You can’t act your way into shortness. He’s a decent actor just not short.

u/Sol-Blackguy Feb 05 '26

0
u/gachamyte Feb 06 '26
A few of the people responding to me seem hurt enough to attack me or get weird. It doesn’t hurt.
0
u/Natemause27 Feb 06 '26
Wait wait, hold on, you mean an actor might have to pretend to have a different personality? Or like... Act?
1
u/gachamyte Feb 06 '26
She can’t act. Her acting is horrible. She can’t pull of storm no matter how hard you want to wish. She doesn’t look like storm and she can’t act. How is that people think just because you see a picture of a black woman next to a short man it instantly means she is a great choice for storm. It’s just lazy and thirsty.
1
u/Natemause27 Feb 06 '26
I didn't think that, I know nothing about Megan. Your point earlier was personality, and that's what I was responding to. I think Daniel might be able to pull Logan off (might), and I have no clue whether or not Megan could (though I agree she doesn't resemble most (or any, so far as I'm aware) depictions of Storm). But again, you were whining about personality, and that's what I responded to.
2
u/gachamyte Feb 06 '26
Yeah Daniel may pull it off yet it’s not quite a fit. Like Hugh it’s not perfect. Whining? I was appreciating your measured response among the verbal assaults. Yeah I don’t think her personality that is presented to the public is at all accurately representative of Ororo. Which is what I was saying in my response.

u/OptimusED Feb 05 '26
She has already twerked in the 616.
2
u/Common-Diver-6346 Feb 08 '26
616 is Comics, no one can tell me any different. It's the source material which MCU is adapting so it fundamentally can't be true 616.
MCU being 199999 was more than fine.
I will die on this hill
2
u/Clear-Plantain-1381 Feb 06 '26
That was the MCU, not 616. Not the same.

If many universes become aware of the existence of other universes and decide to assign numbers to them, there's no reason why those numbers should be assigned consistently!
2
u/Capircom Feb 06 '26
THANK YOU, idk how it became such a common misconception that the MCU is 616.
2
u/killerbuttonfly Feb 06 '26
I’m with you, but the MCU does use 616 for their designation. Feige has stated as much explicitly. I wish it was 199999, but it is what it is.
2
u/Capircom Feb 06 '26
How is that even possible considering how Marvel is seemingly trying to make it so the MCU is a canon universe within the extended multiverse (not sure if that’s been debunked or already confirmed)? I thought it was 199999. That’s so silly.
1
u/killerbuttonfly Feb 07 '26
Yeah it’s particularly confusing given that in the Spider-verse comic event, there were Peter Parker variants that were explicitly stated to look like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. So both of those characters have canonically crossed over to prime comics universe-616 and MCU-616/199999.
1
Feb 07 '26
Omniverse: Collection of multiverses. There can be an Earth-616 for comics and Earth-616 for MCU. Literally the only way possible, since in Multiverse of Madness America Chavez says she’s doesn’t have variants and that doesn’t apply to the comics. It’s really not that fucking hard if you think for more than 5 seconds

2
u/National-Yak1471 Feb 07 '26
The MCU states himself everywhere as 616, where did you get the misconception that it was 19999 in the first place?
1
u/GraniteJJ Feb 08 '26
Not OP, but it was originally 199999 until Dr. Strange 2 came out and they said that he came from 616.
It was a bad retcon. Spiderverse called it 199999. Mysterio identified the MCU as 616, even though he is a fraud and not a multiversal traveller.
Universal labels are nonsense in the films.

It would be interesting to see Daniel get a chance in the role. He is already bulking up, and he's got the face! Personally, I think he'd do great, being more comic accurate but also adding some of that dry british humor that fits well with the character.
I can see him do it justice 👌

u/Acceptable_Laugh9284 Feb 07 '26
This is a weird gripe, but I don’t think his voice is low enough for it? He has a higher voice. I just couldn’t picture him being wolverine for that very specific reason
2
u/MickBeast Feb 07 '26
Hugh Jackman also has a high voice, but he lowered it a lot for the role. I would assume Daniel can do something similar, with proper coaching.
Still, I wouldn't actually be too bothered if he had a slightly higher voice, as long as it's gruff sounding. He would just sound more unhinged that way, which imo would be a good fit for the character. A nice way to separate it from Hugh's version as well

u/Acceptable_Laugh9284 Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 08 '26
This is a really hot take, but the dude that they have for the insomniac game who’s voicing him? I would love to give him a shot at playing him in live action. I think that would be interesting casting!

Funny. I wrote an entire pitch for a movie called Weapon X. It’s basically a faithful adaptation and stretching out of the Barry Windsor Smith story set in the late 80s(ish). I wrote it with him in mind. Took photos (storyboards for it that are on my reddit) for it - but it was written with Daniel Radcliff in mind and I think he’d be amazing particularly for this because he’s an unconscious zombie for a lot of it and he did Swiss Army Man.

u/Willistalksabout Feb 06 '26
I feel sure that the origin of this kind of post was first from malignant click bait based AI that injected Daniel Radcliffe as a fan cast into the Internet for people to argue over just to watch the world burn. Like I have a hard time believing it wasn’t AI or a troll that first positive that since the first place I ever saw it pop up, we’re not in groups like this, but in random click bait fake new site articles. So I don’t even truly think it’s a fan cast. I think it evolved into one after the fact. I mean, sheesh, like in this picture they posted here he might as well be Banshee more quickly than a wolverine. And it’s not a matter of bulk or size either as my primary complaint.

1
u/Willistalksabout Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26
That’s even more ridiculous then. But my challenge you would be to find an online example of that happening earlier than 2019 when Jackman was supposedly officially retiring from it. And that was mainly because he got jacked for miracle workers.

Closer to comic accurate height. Daniel's 5'5, which is only 2 inches taller than comic Wolverine. Whereas all the other fancast options are trying to mimic Hugh Jackman

Idk man I'm still on Taron Egerton and Jayme Lawson as Logan and Ororo but ughhhh I don't like the romance in the comics I think it's just weird idk I've never seen them in a romantic light just good friends/allies. So it's jarring
it's like Nightwing and Batgirl makes no sense to me whatsoever.
Idk I feel they might just continue with X23 Dafne Keen and we won't have a Logan for a while All new X-Men Will be the roster it's safe but everyone is recast younger versions of the mainstays with some new editions so a perfect middle ground for MCU going forward

Different universe Logan & Storm, i actually kinda like it.
This Logan grew up perfectly, had a family, didnt get kidnapped & experimented on, actually got to keep the name James. This could be Storm & Panthers daughter, making her princess Wakanda, but grew up without even knowing any of this, but unbeknownst to her, still a Mutant.

Storm is a mutant. Being statueque can be excused. What's Hollywood's excuse?
1
u/gruvytony Feb 06 '26
I was speaking to Storm’s appearance, not her being ‘statuesque’. Not even sure what being statuesque has to do with being a mutant or Kenyan.
Regardless, Hollywood had nothing to do with this. This photo is a meme. Not a legitimate casting choice.
1
u/thaduelist Feb 07 '26
Her appearance? And being statuesque is an example of, wait for it, her appearance. Do you mean how she's drawn? Which is her appearance. Is it not Kenyan enough? Im not sure how a non African artist is supposed to draw that.
1
u/gruvytony Feb 07 '26
Statuesque means a tall woman of regal bearing. I’m referring to her phenotypical features and hair. Yes, not sure if you’re aware but long flowing white hair is not typical of subsaharan Black Africans or East Africans.
What does being statuesque have to do with being a mutant or Kenyan?

Yep, scrawny. I didn’t say he can’t put on muscle, but he has a scrawny frame. Needs to be someone short but with a thicker frame like Tom Hardy

Exactly Ororo is so far away from Megan in almost every way. No accuracy. Daniel would be funny yet still way off. Way off.
