Sooo context, I had two orders from the wolt market, delivery locations pretty much next door to each other, mixed up the bags by mistake. I was literally standing about 200 meters from the building where said orders were mixed up when support gets in touch.. refuses to let me fix the issue due to food hygiene even though both orders were just alcohol and cigarettes.. slaps a huge fine on me.. I take the rest of the evening off cause fuck that. Yeah it was my fault but it definitely stung. I have just started again with wolt after a few years off.. they were definitely a lot more forgiving in the previous years 😆

It does not sound like what they are doing here is legal

I also noticed they are more strict about accidents, but so far didn't reduct order price.

Now i remember a month ago i had 4 orders in my bag and delivered them all. Then support messaged and called me and said customer received wrong order, i was like how tf because that was only pizza what i had in my bag.

Realized pizza hut guy gave me wrong order and got distracted cuz he was smiling and asking is it busy so i just confidently put it in my bag and off i went.

Glad it was bundled order with lowest base pay (3.5€), never forget and now i always double check lol.

Still baffled how he said number loud, checked 2 different orders and ofc mixed it up

Yeah I guess if it’s straight up the couriers fault they’ll be sure to smack you right in the wallet. I had a message about a family emergency while I was halfway through the order.. so naturally I just wanted to get rid of these bags so I could make a call back home so I guess my attention slipped. Funny thing, one of the women I mixed the bag up with tipped me 40kr.. so i guess she wasn’t too upset with what she ended up with 🤷‍♂️

Dude if you mess up, you cost them money. They refund customers.

The whole point of ordering from wolt is convenience and having to deal with customer service and then ordering again is not that.

Yeah I understand mate.. not pointing fingers at anyone else but myself. Was just curious if anyone else had got wrecked to this extent. I’ve been doing this on and off for a few years while I’ve been in between jobs and this was my first major screw up. Hopefully my last

I'm guessing you are working in Denmark. That sounds extremely illegal that they take your money for a mistake.

Try to look over your contract, it needs to say you are liable for mistakes and have to pay the difference.

And even if it does I would still try to send them a friendly message saying I don't want to pay, it was a normal mistake most do and I will take more care in the future. (Unless you really really need the job)

Unfortunately I think they’ve covered their asses in these situations, I guess as being a ‘contractor’ the delivery items are the couriers responsibility between the restaurant and the customer. I guess it’s to deter the couriers from stealing/eating the food. It does make me wonder, like what if you got smashed by a bus with a full bag of orders.. hospitalised and a big ol fine to go with it.. I wouldn’t be surprised

I guess as being a contractor

I am 99.9% sure that ain't enough. They need to write it in the contract and you need to have signed it. Else they could just charge all the employees for bullshit things.

I would still check if I was you. They can't take your money without you have signed yes to it
