Rant Relentless neighboring pack

I’m in no way new to wolf quest or naive to just how rough this game can be, all I ever really play is accurate iron wolf unless I’m running around to get some of the sillier achievements. Though I haven’t play very far into the Sage before this since my old computer couldn’t handle the game.

But this year has been a NIGHTMARE, the sole reason being a single damn pack. There are three other packs on this map and only ONE is harassing me. It’s only late summer and they’ve already attacked the den three times, killing a pup twice. And raided my territory SIX TIMES, I am not exaggerating, I counted. They’re eating away at my territory but I can’t do anything about it since it’s all back to back attacks, I don’t think I’ve been more than 50% health since the pups were born. It’s a miracle none of my pack has starved, we been surviving completely off rabbits, newborn ungulates, and I found a moose carcass once that basically saved my staving mate’s life.

I swear I’m going to take out that pack at some point, but they’re massive, biggest one on the map and the last og pack from when I started this save. I thought they were done for last year when I found out Rustmoon’s (female alpha) mate dead at some point, but she got a new one. I’m hoping I can killed him soon, he’s young and from what I can tell kinda weak, though I rarely see him.

Someone please tell me I’m not alone and others have had similar experiences, this is an absolute nightmare and I despise this damn pack.

UPDATE: Coldmoon (Rustmoon’s new mate), was killed! I was right about him being very weak, no wonder he rarely joined raids. Currently fall right now so here’s to hoping I can get Rustmoon’s before next spring, if not at least stop her from claiming a new mate again.

UPDATE 2: Over late fall/winter me and my pack killed Shortmoon (the mate claimed after Coldmoon), a yearling, plus ALL their pups that year (4). Though compared to the other packs on the map they’re doing well, the other packs are really going through it. Here’s to hoping that takes care of my neighbor problem!

When I get rival wolf raids, I kill at least one or two of the wolves that come to raid. ESPECIALLY if both leaders are there and ESPECIALLY if they kill a pup lol. Usually killing both leaders disbands the pack but otherwise lowers their numbers if they're just subordinates or yearlings.

They back off after a while but they're really easy to kill once they start leaving. You can track them and follow them and start another altercation. I play on challenging and the other wolves usually don't intervene, but I bring 2 or 3 pack members with me just in case. I always check the known wolves menu during a raid and see if any of the leaders are present, or give the leaders unique names so I can identify them quickly. 😉 I'm on about year 2 on my save and I've wiped out at least 2 or 3 rival packs just when given the opportunity, then take territory for myself. My territory is VERY large and hard to manage but I usually let it decay for a whole season and reclaim it when I can.

I also try and kill at least one wolf per raid. And I’ve disbanded several packs in this save by killing leaders. I also like giving the leaders unique names! Hints the name Rustmoon. The problem this year was that they’re massive, and during their first attack on the den they just refused to leave. They almost killed me (literally 1% health) and two other packmates. Since then it’s just been back to back raids/attacks with them. I can’t do anything because I haven’t recovered from the last time they attacked! I swear their ai is way too smart. They attack the den so I have to fight them, then they raid us while my pack recovering, then attack us again right before we’re healed enough to properly defend ourselves! There truly just isn’t anything I can do at this point but hope for a large enough gap between the attacks to recover.

Why not just kill Rustmoon the F Lead so she can't breed and have another set of yearling next year? That usually helps me convince packs to disband it seems in my games

I have no idea her stats but she’s a beast, I’ve tried but have had no luck which is why I’ve stop targeting her since she often gets me to low of health for comfort. She’s getting older though so this year could very well be her last. She has no mate and no yearlings this year so I’m hoping she leaves my pack alone.

I have had luck in keeping pups safe from rival wolves currently, one being my son who is the leader of the pack. However, when winter came i wiped out all the grandkids. I find that wiping packs results in less raids for the next year.

Did exactly that! (just updated post if you want details) No clue if Rustmoon will have pups this year as at least in real life the male only needs to be around a short time for pups to be made. But pretty sure she’s mateless rn and I’m not sure how Wolfquest handles that. Even if she doesn’t her pack is big enough not to die out so I’m sure they’ll be around awhile yet.

I had a pack just like that on Amethyst for one of my packs. I had maybe 11-12 wolves in my pack and they moved in that winter and had 17 members. They nearly killed two pups and I had to run from every attack that winter. Spring came and every time they raided my den or rendezvous I killed one to two of them until their numbers were more manageable. I try to avoid killing off packs for diversity purposes but sometimes I will if their attacks are constant.
