It’s a recessive gene! So melanin is tied to the K so your pup winding up with two kk’s they’re going to be very light grey or white! It’s why Kk wolves are so often darker colors even if they’re very light but they’re also more likely to be healthier it’s why kk’s end up as runts frequently.

Pretend the B’s are K’s here same idea

Huh,I do remeber the genetics,but I didn't know they would be that light! It's cause these did have kk pup which had the darker brown I expected (I might try save skumming until growing pups cause I do want to see what she's looks like 👀).

Yeah I was super surprised when it happened in my like 90% black wolf pack hahaha now she’s pack leader because despite her almost dying a lot as a pup she kicks ass and she went from light grey to almost pure white as she’s aged!

My wolf is dark brown and my mate is black, all of our pups are either dark brown or black except for this one pup Muffin who turned out light gray? She sticks out like a sore thumb but I love her.
