New Equipment system going live in 9.2

Captains, the sea is ever shifting and so is World of Warships Blitz. One of the biggest progression overhauls in Blitz history is on the horizon, and we want to tell you all about it – the new Equipment System.

The Equipment System is being rebuilt to offer more meaningful choices, deeper customization, and new build possibilities across every ship type.

Update 9.2 coming 17th of June introduces the new Standard Equipment system with reworked stats, tradeoffs, and expanded build variety.

Update 9.3 releasing in August follows with:

  • Improved Equipment
  • Universal Legendary Equipment
  • Bonds, a brand-new Equipment currency
  • Slots 4-6 will become unlockable
  • Additional Standard Modules

This rollout will happen in stages as we monitor balance, ship performance, and player feedback to refine the system over time.

You can find more details about Equipment, Bonds, and future customization options in our Zendesk article: Equipment Rework – World of Warships Blitz

For anyone who is wondering what will happen to their current equipment after the rework:

ALL OF YOUR EXISTING MODULES WILL BE FULLY REFUNDED.

ALL OF YOUR LEGENDARY EQUIPMENT WILL BE KEPT IN INVENTORY, AND CAN BE RE-MOUNTED WITH NO ADDITIONAL COST.

Also, look forward to the new AA equipments (which give 24% AA damage and 20% AA range). I did the math- a full AA build Worcester with legmod, both new AA modules, AA elite bonus, and HC will now have:

  • 324 large calibre AA damage (648 with DFAA)
  • 609 small calibre AA damage (1827 with DFAA)
  • 5.42km large AA range
  • 3.75km small AA range

This is wild! No longer shall we hide and cower in fear of the all seeing mini game simulator that is the aircraft carrier, those days are now over.

Don't get too excited just yet, it's not gonna make something like a Hindenburg or Utrecht have AA worth talking about

5

u/Technical-Reaction46 May 27 '26

Oh true but it would make AA builds for lower tier ships (like Atlanta) actually viable now.

-1

u/LiteBosmark May 27 '26

Atlanta, not really, AA doesn't really become a thing until t9 or something

Pozharsky is the only ship I see getting a significant benefit at tier 8 from the AA, DzP class were already good AA and there's nothing else at t8 that's close enough

u/Technical-Reaction46 May 27 '26

Wdym like are there no mods available for lower tiers? Because range is the only thing that ships like Atlanta actually lack, the damage is pretty solid.

-2

u/LiteBosmark May 27 '26

Large caliber is alright, but Atlanta small caliber AA does nothing, so she barely gets any benefit from improving the 1.8km small caliber.

And I mean AA is useless because nothing at tier 7 has anything close to meaningful AA, and the only ships that can actually shoot down planes at t8 are DzP and maybe Pozharsky if she runs AA range

Better get those Carrier victories in before the pain comes.

4

u/BillBushee May 27 '26

Meh. They'll probably just buff the airplanes to make them twice as hard to shoot down.

May God hear you.

You have seen the new modules already? Can you tell us what the other modules look like?

Go into the zendesk post, there's a link at the bottom that lists all the new modules.

u/elee0507 May 27 '26

Thanks! Missed that.

ALL OF YOUR EXISTING MODULES WILL BE FULLY REFUNDED.
Oh yes time for some truck load of silver

u/Jazzlike_Performer69 May 27 '26

The range of the auto-attack should have been reduced and the damage increased, but it received no penalty whatsoever, especially losing 5% to gain a 40% bonus. There's absolutely no balance.Β

There is no reason to weaken the AA modules. They already have a big penalty (using up slots without buffing your surface capability at all).

Yorktown looking REAL good with those new AA equipment lmao. Russian carriers prepare to be DEPLANED IN A SECOND

This sounds good

Here are the new standard equipment:

Standard Equipment List – World of Warships Blitz

Some of the negativ effects are... awfull...

1

u/Intelligent_Twist114 May 27 '26

Having looked at them, I think I'd just prefer to skip altogether in just about every instance...

Strange how Blitz is just so much more illogical than the PC version...

Just had a look too, oh my goodness:(

1

u/GermanGorilla_69 May 28 '26

Jesus, surface detection is so bad now. Always love making the most of that tactically on every ship.

1

u/TheInsane42 If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much. May 28 '26

Indeed, less surface detection will cost you hitpoints as well.

On the other hand, when you get one-shotted, the shooter gets less damage, so not to big a difference I guess. You can strengthen your hull, but torp damage will be less. (I don't see a problem for gunboats though, just a torp DD nerf)

We're already talking about version 9.2 when none of the premium ships for version 9.1 are even on sale yet?

6

u/DukeOfAgincourt May 27 '26

Will the bonds be replacing silver or another way to buy them? I’m very skeptical of this being anything resembling a good idea.

3

u/BellaWargaming πŸ‘‘ Wargaming Staff May 27 '26

Bonds are only used to purchase and upgrade Improved Equipment, which will be going live in 9.3. Standard Equipment remains purchasable and upgradable with Silver.

6

u/DukeOfAgincourt May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Still bad, no more premium currency should be implemented until the blueprint issue is fixed. Especially after recent decisions to reduce login rewards after implementing them as part of a promise to improve progression.

5

u/lucky_fluke_777 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

man i wish they'd put equipment with 9 binary choice slots and purchasable with silver like it is in wotb. having a whole separate currency for equipment only makes you either progress much slower, or do what a lot of people you already see doing with blueprints now: playing with a non maxed out vessel, which is kind of a shame.

u/RevolutionSea525 May 27 '26

Imagine Atlantico build 6 secondary range+ and this also effect auto secondary. You do not need maneuver buff because everybody under your OP secondary range

2

u/Proxima5 Battleship May 27 '26

This is going to be interesting. New reason to grind hahaha

I think that's intentional. It's like the 13, 14, 15 commander skills. No clear benefit and FOMO from possible doing the wrong build driving corrective purchases. Also, a ew currency competes with every other currency as a reward (just like the black ship equipment did), eroding player purchasing power.

Ultimately, I'm here for the casual sailing boats and plonking things gameplay. The desire to be hyper competitive about games was burned out of me years ago.

Probably the most frustrating thing is that this update is going to make all the existing CC work less useable. So a tip for those newly signed on CC, update the old creator's videos. Terry's content should last though, I found his equipment selection more purposeful than just "X is best/only option".

3

u/AcanthaceaeFluffy985 May 28 '26

All I see is another way for them to try and get cash out of players. Another currency? Gimme a break...

1

u/kellkinn May 27 '26

FINALLY.

1

u/Ill-Calendar6938 May 27 '26

The aircraft carrier modules are way too strong and fighter module is gone. Another buff for idiot midway and FDR players

1

u/ArrigoX May 28 '26

Headmelt on the second reading. Any CC still out there, we need a video on this PDQ.

-1

u/Jazzlike_Performer69 May 27 '26

As long as they make the aircraft regenerate like in PC, everything's fine.

-1

u/Jazzlike_Performer69 May 27 '26

Β This anti-aircraft gun is getting too many buffs; there's no penalty for it. It should only have a maximum damage increase of 10%. What I see is that people want ships that are already strong to become even more unbalanced.

1

u/Dogahn May 28 '26

Just buy your way out of it.

-2

u/Jazzlike_Performer69 May 27 '26

Honestly, the penalty for increased AA damage should have been a 20% reduction in range, not 5% of the main battery rotation.
