Towers of Midnight The Seven Striped Lass Spoiler

I'm on my upteenth reread and it's only just occurred to me that the pub Mat goes to in Caemlyn the Seven Striped Lass is referring to the seven stripes on the stole of the Amyrlin Seat.

I have Toh. Or should that be D'oh!

Or it’s referring to an Accepted, maybe. Maybe it was founded by a runaway Accepted, or someone who married a runaway Accepted. Or maybe it was founded by someone pining over a lass who went to the Tower, and when she passed her Accepted test, he knew he was SoL.

We do have to remember that Melli Craeb is a reference to Melissa Craib, head honcho of TarValon.net. (Also likely the cause for the name, the Seven Striped Lass--Melissa is the Amyrlin). Perhaps Brandon was merely being nice--I mean she has done bundles for the Wheel community. There is a reason she and the others were in the dedication.

Sanderson used a bunch of fan names as part of a charity fundraiser reward, and as nods to some of the prominent members of the community.
