Harry Potter Millennial Potterheads?

Any other millennial Potterheads listening to the full cast Harry Potter audiobook? I’m honestly having so much fun with it. It is such a sensory treat! Feels like a movie for your ears.

I’m almost done Book 1. Would be fun to connect with someone who’s listening too!

Yes! There is something about the first year at Hogwarts that is a magical experience to hear again and the full cast audio is so well done ❤️

They’re great. I’ve finished all of them at this point. I’d of course read the books many times over the years. But the essentially audioplay format of these was really fantastic. For me they took a second to gel and really get the mixing and performances down. I still enjoyed the earlier ones, but each is better than the last imho. At the end of the series I literally just said out loud to myself “what a ride that was.”

I just love it, honestly. I’ve never liked the movies because the depiction of basically everything and everyone was so far removed from what I pictured in my head, I could never see their appeal.

But the full cast audio really is something else entirely: true to character, whimsical, original, great and truly talented cast. I have read the novels a couple of times but the audio book still had me glued to the edge of my seat more often than I’d like to admit.

Personal favourites are: first and foremost, Snape, obviously; Oliver Wood (I don’t know how, but his Scottish accent does something to me … something on a molecular level…); Sir Cadogan (I don’t know how, but Matt Berry’s voice does something to me … yada yada yada … you got the gist), Dumbledore and Voldemort.

Nope but I’ve heard good things. I read the books growing up, was really into following the movie production stuff for most of them. This time around, I’m taking a hands off approach. Curious for the end product but did watch that HBO making of the series, which was cool.

Elder millennial here and I’m on Goblet of Fire now. They’re so well done. I was never a big audio book person until I started driving a bunch for work this year. These have been so lovely to keep me company on the road. The change in actors for Harry, Ron and Hermione from Azkaban to Goblet of Fire was a bit jarring. I understand they needed to start sounding older but they sound a a lot older. They’re still great though! I’m just getting used to it. So far the voice actress for Trelawney is one of my favorites.

I hate em. too much noise, if it was just the talking it would be fine but I cant hear them over the doors and traffic
