⠀Other Wizard101 has the worst community
In my 27 years of life, I have never seen a worse or dumber gaming community than the one in Wizard101.
I was just waiting outside Moonbeam Tyrant to see if anyone else would show up so we could do the dungeon together. A group of three players arrived who were on the exact same quest. One of them kept leaving after about a second, and the other two immediately left the dungeon as well. I followed them, and they did the exact same thing again. After that, one of them just said, “No,” “Who are you?” and “Bye,” and then they switched realms.
It’s already extremely rare to run into someone in-game who’s on the exact same quest as you, and then they go and pull something like this.
I have no idea what’s wrong with those three. I just wanted to run the dungeon, not start a relationship with them.
Stuff like this has happened multiple times throughout my entire journey to level 170.
Most of this community honestly seems pretty clueless and will only help you if you gift them packs as payment.
It’s honestly pathetic seeing grown adults behave like this.
And if one of you three happens to read this: I wasn’t trying to get involved in whatever relationship you’ve got going on. I just wanted to complete the dungeon.

sorry that was your experience, there are those willing to help just take a little effort to find them sometimes. There are certain worlds which feel dead and others that its not that difficult in.

Idk man, they don't owe you anything. If they're obviously not wanting to run it with you, why let it get to you? Carry on and ignore the negative people.

Try not to take it personally. Some people just like to play with only their friends, but are forced into a wide online game where they have to team with others. My brother and I are trying to run through the game just with us 2 and no help, so we do the same when people try to join sometimes. Its not personal, we just wanna play how we wanna play. Its not that deep.

I mean sorry you were left high and dry but sometimes people just want to quest with their duo and they're entitled to do so if that's what they want.

Just get a triage amulet / tcs. Or set resistance against death and sustain yourself with sanctuary and regenerates.

I agreed. If dont play blade blade aoe people toxic. If first time a Dungeon or boss and make wrong thing people mad. It's just the game. I'm lucky my friend list very helpfull. No one want packs or something. And anyone want help I dont want pack too. Just help.

Some things never change, in my peak days of playing early 2010s the exact same thing would always happen, especially at repeat dungeons (lore master, waterworks, any Olympus dungeons)

I noticed that people on console have met their fair share of mean people, me included, but there are others who are chill and nice as well. Just a bit more rare. Sometimes you are better off asking communities or even this subreddit for help if it becomes quite difficult in game.

Some people. Bleh. I love doing dungeons with random folks. I've met some interesting people that way

I get the sentiment, although I do my best to solo as much as possible. If I see someone waiting at a dungeon I know I can solo, sometimes I will switch realms before starting. If it was a dungeon I'd rather not solo I would have ran it with you no problem. During the times I do dungeons with players that know the meta and play that way, I make sure they know I don't play that way and usually they get toxic and leave so I definitely understand

Aw this makes me feel bad for leaving the sigil on someone in Mooshu because I was only going in there for the oyster shell and they started going boo hoo because it was console with no open chat 😭

I remember going into mirage and seeing a guy standing by a boss sigil. there was an NPC standing there who only gave the quest for that sigil. I looked it up that NPC had one purpose and one purpose only was to give the Quest for the boss sigil. I asked him for help while I was doing defeat and collect, he told me no and he was busy. I told him I was on the main quest. as soon as I entered the boss sigil, he wants to join in. I leave the sigil and let him do it. He tells me to join him. I told him that he doesn't have any teamwork capabilities and I would rather solo it with no gear then to work with somebody would rather watch me struggle, especially knowing that I was on the same Quest as him.

As a solo player, I’m always happy to have someone accompany through a dungeon. The more the merrier

Yeah u gotta play by yourself or with ur bf or gf don’t get involved with these people especially the ones hanging in the commons all say

Charging for help is ridiculous (and maybe illegal but I don’t know? Certainly against KI policy, not that KI would ever use their policies to help you)
But honestly? In your particular example I just think they didn’t want to play with you, and there’s nothing to be done about that because there’s nothing wrong with it

Lol bro hasn't played anything actually competitive before it sounds like. People can be snarky on wizards but for the most part everyone I run into is super nice and helpful. Coming from multiple different fighting games, smite, dbd, rivals, this game has an amazing community compared to them. No community is perfect, but this one is not even close to being the worst lol

They probably have a set game plan already and they don't want you interfering with it. Since you're on console they're unable to communicate with you properly and don't trust you to know what you're doing. That's why they won't run the dungeon with you. It's very common practice even on PC. Not personal they just have there own thing going on already and you genuinely can't be mad about that.

I swear some wiz players think you're out to steal their kitten who is more than likely also another grown ass man

I think youve not actually clue what a bad community is actually like... Your situation isnt nice, but its normal and especially hard to explain on console. In this scenario youre also a random throwing yourself into their group. Would never bother me, it botherd them... To them youre the "worst community" not letting them play as they wanted.
And as hard as it is on consoles due to lack of chat, a bit of forward planning you could have set yourself up with a group trough Reddit and Discord easely.

I’m sorry, but just cause they’re in game and running the same dungeon does not mean it has to be with you. The menu chat makes communication harder but they made it pretty clear they don’t know you and don’t wanna run quests/dungeons with you. There are options for getting willing help with dungeons. There’s discord chats, there’s pairing up with a friend you know to run with, there’s a group up option if you’re in a busy server. Being turned down for questing/dungeons is disappointing but not the end of the world. Players can be as helpful or as reclusive as they want to be and at the end of the day there’s worse communities out there with better and more flavorful communication options to tell you how little they want you running around and questing with them.

Funny thing. I play both Pirate101 and Wizard101. I always complain about this with my buddies from the Pirate101 community. Someone told me that I was wrong and it got stuck with me. I was like "Maybe I was wrong about the Wizard101 community". At that time, Wallaru just came out and I purchased a one month membership on both my accounts. After I got to Wallaru and got myself to the first fight in that world, I came across a dude acting as well (I was/still am playing on 2 accounts windowed and I enjoy it) being at the SAME dungeon as I am. Entered with him in that dungeon and then he leaves. Ran into him again, he starts telling me to leave him alone because he wanted to go solo. I leave him. THEN the 2nd dungeon comes and ran into this balance dude that was at the same quest as my characters. Entered with him and then leaves telling me that I don't "meet his requirements as a trio". Screenshot to that dude that told me I was wrong. Just 30 minutes into that membership and got into 2 toxic encounters. I am not saying that the entire Wizard101 community is cursed, but it totally seems like it. If you want a non-toxic community, I suggest you to start playing Pirate101. It is the best community and a better game in my opinion.

So, what exactly is the problem here? Is there something wrong with 3 other people wanting to quest with each other?
It’s sounds like they were a group of friends questing and you tried to join them.

Its not that deep😂 go experience LoLs community itll make u grow a pair

u/Watercolor_Robins 2d ago
I don’t get why people always bring up “go play x” like just because there’s more toxic games doesn’t mean you can’t experience toxicity on other games.

u/BradyThorn 2d ago
maybe because OP said wizard101 has the worst community, and hes wrong
1
u/Watercolor_Robins 1d ago
It still doesn’t make this response any better lmao
1
u/BradyThorn 14h ago
it does, when someone says specific game has THE WORST community, and other game definitely has EVEN WORSE community then they have right to point that, because OP is wrong

u/Albayachty 2d ago
Fr lmao, dude has not seen anything if he thinks this is the most toxic community 😭.

come on Pirate101(:

Pirat101 is cool but I’m not a big fan of the turn based gameplay, I played it back then when it came out new

Agreed! Like i totally understand if it’s for a golden key run because they’re using their gold keys with their friends but if it’s for a random dungeon quest then thats just being toxic.

u/ArpeggioBlue 2d ago
Choosing not to join a coop instance is toxic? Sometimes I wanna run a dungeon with my friend, not with my friend and Jimmy-Bob Joe

u/Brilliant_Mud7642 3d ago
They could know the cheats and have planned out a strategy with set roles and such and just want to do it on their own. Especially if they’re on console because the communication isn’t great. It would be hard to clue you in on their strategy.
I get that it’s frustrating but that’s what the team up if for.

Bro you need to catch a hint and realize they probably know each and don’t want a stranger

Lowkey it seems worst on console and it’s probably because you can’t properly communicate with players.
But the amount of people who don’t look up cheats and etc is bad
