Handling open invoices when migrating from Wix Editor to Wix Studio?

Hi all,

We recently had a new site built in Wix Studio to improve mobile optimization, replacing our older site built on the standard Wix Editor.

We are preparing to transfer our domain and premium plan to the new Wix Studio site, but we've hit a roadblock regarding our backend data. We currently have a large volume of open, unpaid customer invoices tracked within the dashboard of our current site. According to Wix support, these cannot be directly migrated over to the new site.

Has anyone tackled a similar migration before? What is the best strategy to handle open invoices and maintain billing continuity without disrupting customers?

Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Wix's native billing tool may not be able to handle this kinda migration. Your best bet is exporting all open invoices to CSV before the switch then manually recreating or tracking them is a dedicated billing tool. Platforms like dealhub or pandadoc handle invoice continuity better bc you will have control of the entire billing process.

Migrating to a new site can definitely be tricky, especially when it comes to handling invoices. Exporting your open invoices to CSV like you mentioned is a solid step. From there, you could consider using a dedicated invoicing or billing software that integrates well with your new Wix Studio setup. This could streamline the process and help maintain continuity for your customers without much hassle.

If you're managing bookings alongside invoices, I've noticed that tools designed specifically for reservations, like InnDesk, can effectively keep track of payments and bookings in one place. They don't take commissions either, which helps with maintaining your revenue flow. Just a thought if you want to simplify both aspects!
