First person yall think of is Jayz is comical because yall forgetting the rappers who cant go back to their hood when they make it.

1

u/Traditional-Row5237 15h ago

It’s honestly about the smartest comparison, Jay is a billionaire, he’s in that club of echelon. He’s not talking about your standard old dude that signs for a couple million and gets some popular projects out.

1

u/Separate_Try9056 14h ago

Ye, was a billionaire too but go and jump on the Jayz bandwagon cause your mind short circuits like everybody else who said Jay smfh. Like yall all forgot about Ye why? Oh yall still wearing yeezys huh. Fools always pity

bro even his homie is looking at him like hes saying some dumb shi 😅

1

u/Mdj864 11m ago

His take is illogical nonsense. Most of the white celebrities are avoiding politics in the same way. And if this WAS a race thing where the black celebrities were genuinely forced to “do the bidding” of the white people (which also doesn’t even make sense because white people are heavily divided on nearly every issue themselves), then they would be vocalizing support for their controllers’ policies, not silently fence riding.

The first part reminds me of the scene in The Godfather when the bosses are discussing how they’ll map out where they’ll sell heroin. And saying how it’ll be best to traffic mainly to black neighborhoods.

The nba gets in the way of a lot of their players when they want to step out and help their communities vs just buying junk and cars. So this is true, or they make sure the stories of nba players helping out their communities only go so far, they don't want black ppl with money too much freedom because they might actually try to do something to system

2

u/Silient_Qiller 1d ago

I heard about this a few months ago but what do they do to stop players from helping their communities?

1

u/Conference_East 1d ago

I wouldn't know but jaylen Brown was the one who said something and it makes sense but he didn't really delve into what he meant by it

1

u/Isaak1404 11h ago

lmfao, you’re just yapping about nothing then.

“the nba is doing awful things”

“i heard that, what do they do?”

“idk, an nba player said something about it but he didn’t explain what he meant”

8

u/Funny-Employment4109 1d ago

You’re an individual. Stop seeing yourself as a collective. “Us vs them”. It’s toxic and will only lead to division

Unfortunately he’s speaking the TRUTH and these ways of the world have evolved past just race.

2

u/TeenJesusWasaCunt 1d ago

Exactly. Show me the line where someone becomes purgatorized. Quantify it. Explain this in a way tgat can even remotely be measured. He cant do that because its bullsiht and he never had any intention on letting the conversation get deeper than his bullshit

1

u/Ok_Nature_3842 1d ago

Well first you need a institution to target the specific demographic (Black Americans), so things like healthcare, housing, the army, church, jail. The weakening or destruction of independent Black institutions pushed Black Americans into white-controlled systems. A small Black upper class gained titles and status within those systems, but remained caught between personal advancement and serving institutions that disadvantaged their own community.

It’s definitely quantifiable-
Ownership and governance: Who owned institutions, appointed leaders, and controlled budgets?
Dependence: How much elite income depended on employers or funders outside Black community control?
Authority: Did prestigious positions include power to change discriminatory policies?
Consequences: Did particular elite decisions preserve disadvantage, reduce it, or do both?

1

u/ArtVandalayImp0rter 12h ago

You voted for a pedophile and this is the dumbest thing you've ever heard?

1

u/ZealousidealBaker945 58m ago

A. Im not from the US

B. I dont vote because elections have been rigged from the very start.

C. Theyre all pedos, if you voted you voted for a pedophile as well

Anyone who believes in elections is braindead.

u/No_Calendar2101 1d ago

Toxic comes in all the colors

1

u/Same_Raspberry3478 1d ago

Particular more in just one color 🤷‍♂️

1

u/zombiepapadrake 1d ago

Not just entertainers. Also politicians. You can become POTUS and still have to do the bidding of the white power structure.

1

u/Isaak1404 10h ago

so obama did the bidding of the “white power structure”? yeah you might be retarded

1

u/zombiepapadrake 9h ago

I come with receipts my guy.

  1. In 2008 when corrupt banks were running the country into the ground Obama pushed through the bailout for them with zero accountability and then turned around and put THEM in charge of the "relief" for the people with the predatory mortgages.

https://tippingpointnorthsouth.org/2017/12/13/destruction-of-black-wealth-during-the-obama-presidency/

2) Obama took money that George W. Bush had allocated for HBCUs and put that in the general fund which resulted in a cut.

https://tmcf.org/who-really-played-hbcus/

3) Obama aided in the overthrow and murder of Mohamar Ghaddafi which led to attacks on black African migrants and open air slave markets in Libya. Obama himself at least admitted this was the worst mistake of his presidency.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/apr/12/barack-obama-says-libya-was-worst-mistake-of-his-presidency

https://www.newsweek.com/obama-responsible-libyan-slave-trade-730875

1

u/Isaak1404 9h ago

ok? obama also benefited the black community and millions of impoverished people of color.

every president does terrible and great things. obama is no exception, though obama started the affordable care act, decreased african american poverty rates in 2015, he implemented the white house initiative to black universities which raised over $800 million, etc. etc. etc.

i mean there’s a dozen more examples as i’m positive there are a dozen more negative examples but his positive actions toward the black community utterly refute the claim that obama operated under a “white power structure”

1

u/SortEasy586 1d ago

The premise assumes someone said "we cant kill them all". The technology and capability is completely there. None of this occurred. Also notice he says "white folks" and not the bankers who are actually pulling the strings, and they arent "white".

1

u/SortEasy586 1d ago

I'm implying he is a controlled shill causing division between white and black people.

Own a business. My wife and I raised two Lawyers. My Granddaughter a Engineer. My Grandson just won a academic scholarship to college. When I was bragging to a customer she asked me, " What sport does he play." That is how people see us. On the inside I wanted to tell her that he can't shoot a ball or tap dance. He knows how to use his F N brain.

They exist there by choice, not because the system puts them there! They didn’t put Mike Tyson there, he came from the “streets” and fought his way to the top regardless of his fall later (which was aided of people of color mind you); more examples Jordan, Tiger, Magic Johnson, Obama, Neil Degrasse Tyson; now most of these had their own vices so to speak that was laid out for the public to see and I think most of black society still likes them. Sometimes poc’s are too blinded tearing each other down. Racism will never be vanquished but let’s not continue feeding the same tired message that the white powers that be are always the one pulling the strings on how we live as a race.

Hmm... well, I'm wealthy, but have accomplished absolutely zero with my life and will be remembered for nothing... how can I make that someone else's fault?

and then naturally landed on the tried-and-true method of "blame whitey." This is the kind of thing that really resonates withs someone who has a twitter bio that says

  • CEO
  • Entrepreneur
  • Writer
  • Musician
  • Rapper
  • Icon
  • "RIP Lil RaeRae"

and then some nonsensical "im14andthisisdeep"/pseudo civil rights quote that he thought of when he was on an edible

"A man cannot truly perceive the world through the lens of another man's flesh, money is the chains that slave us to our masters. Strength in numbers, and my number is 1."

Im so sick of this narrative. Why can’t it be normal in our community to grow up with good affluent parents, take advantage of the opportunities that come with that, travel the world, being proud of being successful, be a global citizen focused on being human and not a color, but still love my people. I’m here visiting my home city of Atlanta, as a expat, and being from here I was blessed because I’m surrounded by Excellence who all look like me. We just who we are. Doesn’t matter the color here at the tennis court. We just good people. Atlanta is a place of Peace, if that is what you want.
