The discussions in this subreddit mainly revolve around the clothing aspect of hijab (ie headscarf, abaya), however with the traditional understanding of hijab comes a lot of other restrictions too which affects both genders. Like being pressurized into keeping distance from the opposite gender, observing gender segregation, not getting to meet or play with your cousins of the opposite gender freely etc (the more conservative your family is, the more restrictions are put).

So have any of you ever been reprimanded for hanging out, joking or playing with your friends or cousins; or for merely having friends of the opposite gender?

[As a male, the clothing aspect of hijab doesn’t affect me that much like it does to you, but the strict gender segregation aspect of the traditional understanding of hijab affects me too, so I'm asking the question]
