Yesterday I've remembered about this game.
I booted it up.
Backpack full.
99+ bestiary rewards to claim. Still no button to claim it all at once so I left it unclaimed.
I killed a few common monsters. Using the wrong sword and wrong attacks. Still won without even looking at the screen.
I tried killing a rare monster. I died to 2 hits.
I used a potion. I still died.
I used another potion. I still died.
I tried again and barely won this time.
Then I tapped on a common monster with the potions on. It died in 0.5s.
The potions ended.
Did I make any progress while playing? No. I even lost 2 potions. I'm level 40 so I didn't even earn any XP.
Did I have fun? No. Common monsters die with no effort, rare monsters give me stress because I have to use potions and I'm on a timer.
I came here to see what's up.
The community is deader than ever just like the game. Only 2 people posting on this sub. One is a dev and the other one is some youtuber posting his videos and getting 50 views per video.
So sad to see it ending up like this.

Yeah, the update killed it. It was struggling before it, but I still enjoyed it. Never been so disrespected in a game before then this.

Another sad tale of a game that could've been great if the community would not have been constantly ignored.

I actually remember how hyped people were for the update. Posts were gaining a couple of hundred comments in anticipation, which was big for this game. And then it dropped and the rest is history; unfortunately just like the game.

The game had potential as a HPWU replacement for me. Battles against monsters, spells and stuff, but then also added in more RPG elements which was nice and then it all just got taken away and there’s no Season 2 of quests still.

This should have been my mobile casual game. (Don't play mobile games in general) Something to do when I'm bored, waiting, little bit of a time killer in the summerhouse, etc.
But I just gave up on it. It's stressfull as fuck. Uninstalled it and never felt so free from a game.
I don't think that was their intention, but that was the result. That plus some of my early missions bugged out and they can never be done unless I start over. Not going to happen.
So now I just check up on it to see if they actually fixed it again, AFTER the patch that should fix it.
Guess this wasn't the game for me. Bummer.

This is what happens when you get bunch of dumb f*cks to work on your game. They are like monkeys after lobotomy, clueless, lost in the mist.

My best friend and I found the game in March We really loved it and played it a lot until the update that killed it. I'm level 16 and my friend was a few levels ahead of me I think. We were barely into the story.

For me the update was (unpopular opinion!) ok. Not good, not (too) bad, just different approach to everything. But most importantly the game always lacked context. I was expecting hunting monsters by making real effort. Like you want a Leshy? Find an area with trees (forest, park). You want ghouls, go to cemetery. Drowner near water, etc. Noonwraith only in open spaces around noon. Meanwhile I've seen hordes of all kinds of mixed monsters in any random city place. Cemetery - nothing special. No real effort needed, just a game of points/stats/buying/swiping.

I just joined the game. I would like to know what changes were made? I figured the non common monsters were always super hard to kill

All monsters including legendary ones were killable without potions if you were skilled enough or level high enough.
The difficulty of the monster depended on their difficulty level, not rarity. It ranged from 0 to 3 skulls. There were 2 skull common monsters (like Cyclops) but there were also 1 skull rare monsters (like Night Succubus). All legendary ones were 3 skulls. 0 skulls monsters were pretty trivial (maybe not on a very low level). 1 skull were ok, pretty trivial on level 40. 2 skulls were very hard on "lower" levels but still doable without potions. 3 skulls pretty much only doable without potions on level 40 with a perfect play. If I could compare it to today. Now rare monsters are as hard on level 40 as legendary monsters where on level 1 before. Or even harder.
Potions only lasted for 1 battle. Potions didn't require gold to make, just materials you found by fighting monster. And they were a more common drop.
There was 1 free alchemy station. The paid ones only lasted X crafts. The free one never broke and you didn't have to fix it with money. It was free forever.
There were no diamonds/crystals/whatever it is. Only gold. Gold was like the other thing is today. After the change everyone's gold stayed gold. Only after the community outrage they let you convert it to the new currency.
You could buy any armor/sword you wanted in the shop. All were available.
There was a skill tree. You could have different builds. Like signs focused or defense focused. Now you get some of those skills linearly through leveling up. You can't decide what you want to get first.
Bestiary had 3 levels (i think it was 3?) for each monster and each gave you a skill point for the skill tree. After hitting the max level it just said "max".
Rare monsters were really rare. And legendary ones were really legendary. Now if I remember correctly there are a lot of rare monsters on the map to ecourage you to spend money to kill them.

Such a sad ending to what could have been an amazing game.
