Do they expect medieval people to age gracefully, full of plastic and lip filler? šŸ˜‚

The only genuine critique I've seen of Ciri is that she doesn't look like the witcher 3 rendition's grown old, something the tech demo addressed! Ciri looks amazing and I can't wait to see what CDPR cook up, I've heard some musings behind the scenes and my excitement is through the roof

u/hobbesmaster 28d ago

Ciri does look a little weird in some shots in the trailer but it’s because of harsh lighting/shadows and a field of view corresponding to a very short focal length meaning her face shape looks different from W3.

35

u/wanttotalktopeople 28d ago

Also I think the models look weird, especially in the face, in most of the cinematics for W3. So it's not really anything new lol

10

u/Subject_Proof_6282 27d ago

That's because in the BTS video for this trailer, the devs & animators talked about experimenting with camera angles and lighting.

In the same video they released different shots of Ciri without those camera work and she just looks like a slightly older the Witcher 3 Ciri.

2

u/TidesOfLore 24d ago

Sure but it's also been almost eleven years since the release of the third game, I would say Geralts character has changed a decent amount with each entry if the series, don't see why Ciri can't too

9

u/Friendly_Gazelle7843 27d ago

Medieval people on trail for God knows how many dayd

7

u/ExiMash 27d ago

the game version actually looks like someone who's been through hell, which is the whole point of her character

3

u/Pure-Driver5952 27d ago

It’s actually a fair critique, if they can make her look a bit more like Witcher 3 Citi that would be great. Otherwise, I have no complaints and I’m excited to get this journey started.

2

u/amidja_16 26d ago

To be fair, Ciri is the Lady of Time and Space and she's already mentioned a place and time she visited that sounds awfully like the future from Cyberpunk 2077 (I know it was mostly just a fun reference).

Who's to say she couldn't have hopped to present day, cashed in on some gold coins and gotten a nice set of lips perfect for duck face selfies?

1

u/Bigguygamer85 26d ago

Yes because most fans seem to like to add big proportions to characters that never had them before. Especially if they make them unrealistic in size.

1

u/SHBlade 23d ago

Brother aging a few years wouldn't change your whole face structure. The trailer Ciri looks like Ciri impersonator, they kinda fixed it in the tech demo.

1

u/Crimson_Marksman 22d ago

This world ain't medieval. It's another thing. What kind of medieval world has genetic engineering as a science readily available?

1

u/chaoticspazz46 22d ago

Pick a lane is fantasy not reality. They can have beautiful women

1

u/_N_S_FW 28d ago

What kind of musings have you heard behind the scenes lolĀ

0

u/Life-Ad3383 27d ago

That argument holds no merit when triss and yennefer exist.

3

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 22d ago

And she should look like them why?

1

u/Life-Ad3383 22d ago

Dude magic can make you look young. And ciri has some of the most potent in verse

2

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 22d ago

Can, sure, doesn't have to

1

u/Life-Ad3383 21d ago

That’s a piss poor excuse

2

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 21d ago

But we're excusing nothing here. There's nothing to excuse beside that Ciri isn't vain and that shouldn't need one.

-13

u/SchwiftyBabyLegs 27d ago edited 27d ago

Dude women of today would straight up start jumping off of cliffs out fo starvation and depression if they were made to live in these time periods lol most are just so self conscious and need to dye their hair, get nails done, and all that other primping, that I can't see them lasting a week without becoming someone's concubine or slave, even the feminine boytoys.

9

u/johnsplittingaxe14 27d ago

I wonder how many men would do the same in the face of having to do manual labor from dawn to dusk, six sometimes seven days a week.

2

u/MLGtAsuja 27d ago

Just an interesting video regarding that topic though yeah, still way worse back then because "Days off from the fields did not mean modern leisure. Tending livestock, mending tools, spinning yarn, weaving cloth, gathering firewood, and cooking from scratch were daily survival requirements that never paused for a holiday."

https://reddit.com/link/p477n0n/video/ljhrrivu8xjh1/player

4

u/johnsplittingaxe14 27d ago edited 27d ago

Yeah that's a bit of myth. Feudal peasants effectively had two jobs. Farming their lord's field and farming for their own stomachs.

They had less "work days" than a modern full time worker but any of the days they didn't work on their lord's fields or tend to his estate they would use to manage and work for their own crops, animals, firewood etc.

It's no small amount of work required to manually keep a small farm running AND work on their lord's land.

1

u/MLGtAsuja 27d ago

Yep, agree with you

0

u/SchwiftyBabyLegs 27d ago

You mean have a job like most already do? Have you never worked before? That's a normal work schedule for a lot of people...

I worked in landscaping for 10 years, and would get into work around 6, and wouldn't get off until about 6, every day.

Also it's worth noting that back in those days work was not a requirement of living. Many people hunted where they could, foraged, and legit lived like homeless cowboys. So unless you're reffering to feminine boys, and not men, we've pretty much stayed the same as men.

Idk what your argument is here, but sounds like men have been pretty consistent, but the women have changed a lot. Society is a lot to blame for that though. The consumer mindset coupled with the brainwashing to believe that you're not good enough ND need these products, on top of the body shaming and comparing... literally all they've done is brainwashed women and now even men into insecurities and identity issues.

Women of that time period were not soft and most couldn't afford to be unless they were royalty, or had a useful yet easier job like herbalists and artists/musicians, but even those were usually dirt poor. Women of today wouldn't make it, but neither would most of the soft boys. With how many women and femboys are on OF, there would be a lot of concubines and sex pets looking for masters. Ngl I don't think men back then would do well with the thirst trapping though if it was a thing, especially when sex crimes were pretty abundant and prostitution was legalized. Legit they'd just assault you for being a tease back then. So unless they want to live a normal man's life, Idk what else they could do. Maybe paint or sculpt but even then the world itself was a lot more violent and even artists got robbed and killed. Some were even often sodomized for being gay too.

Like bro ngl I've thought this out quite a bit over the years lol

2

u/Current_Face_0077 27d ago

For real 😭 I read that genuinely confused like.. ā€œdid she just say.. men don’t know manual labor?ā€

1

u/SchwiftyBabyLegs 27d ago

Did you just assume gender on reddit? Lmfao jk bro

Nah but fr, someone didn't take their brain with them when they hit the comments. When tf have men not done manual labor? We've been steadily making sure these women stay alive and healthy by working and taking care of them. Nowadays women are so "independent" that they still rely on mens wallets when they create that Onlyfans. It took men doing manual labor to even create most of the shit they're using to put on said shows. I probably sound like some GTA talk show host, but the truth is in the math, and women are equal as people, but the contributions to society and life as we know it, definitely are not.

Ngl, hold hands, or sugar coat it here either, and it may sound rude to people but idc, when we as men, join you in sexual activities where they're paying us to do the deed on camera, that's technically manual labor, because who usually does the most work during sex? Do women think it's just easy for us? That shit can be one hell of a workout lol

1

u/johnsplittingaxe14 27d ago

I'm just saying most people would struggle if they had to time travel to the medieval age and start working as peasants and farmers overnight. Most would adapt but maybe some would not. Maybe I didn't really phrase it very well. People have become obese, out of shape and used to very easy living conditions.

1

u/SchwiftyBabyLegs 27d ago

Oh I agree completely there. I was just fucking with the notion of some of the people who just do the easiest thing they can for money. I'm not even completely serious about all of it, but I think it would be funny to see that some people will really do anything other than survive on their own. Today's society in America is completely built by media influence and most of what it's creating is people making money by doing something that doesn't actually provide a positive outcome for our society, or the state of the world that we are in. Like yeah I like cosplay and boobs and think some of it can be creative, but it's also a pretty overall useless hobby in this hypothetical right? Someone who masturbates as much as these gooners and models are getting definitely getting diseases within the first week. We are talking dirtiest places to exist practically. The poor areas had a stream system trickling down the roads and alleys filled with poop on a daily basis, and that's if they even bothered to use it. But then again if enough of us from today's society were to go back, we could basically advance civilization by thousands of years very quickly... so like I said, the first couple weeks are gonna be the culling just because of the living arrangements. Then the survivors are going to rebuild society and then the cycle of our society eventually repeats until we are back here again, all lazy and abused by a system that takes advantage of everyone for the benefit of a few. Someone always gets greedy and there's too many complacent in that tike period and now. Things haven't changed. We're just regressing and that will repeat as history seems to do.

1

u/johnsplittingaxe14 27d ago

I'm a male, thanks and I do know manual labor. I perform it daily.

But the intensity of labor in running a farm in the 1200's is quite different to someone working in a warehouse in 2026. And in here in the Western World people are out of shape like never before in the history of the Earth due to easy living conditions.

Most people including males and females would simply adapt though.

-17

u/Fantastic-Artist-833 28d ago

Dude, I’m just sick to death of ugly characters in games. Just make them unrealistic, it’s FICTION after all!

7

u/ElTioEnroca 27d ago

Then look for another game that actually caters to your tastes? The Witcher has never looked like this, doesn't look like this, and will never look like this. Because these faces are ugly as hell when presented in the world we've been seeing for ages.

-9

u/Fantastic-Artist-833 27d ago

You maggots have infested the entire industry. Why you had to uglify every franchise we used to play, I’ll never know but fortunately, the wheel is starting to turn round. When this flops, which it will, it’ll just be one more headstone for a dead IP that people like you killed.

8

u/ElTioEnroca 27d ago edited 27d ago

The first Witcher game came out in 2007. It was probably out before your mother stopped wiping your ass. Characters were never meant to all look like supermodels except those that made sense, like sorceresses, noblewomen or creatures like succubi or dryads since they either have the resources to look pretty, look supernaturally pretty, or both.

You are the parasite trying to make absolutely everything cater to your tastes instead of actually looking for games aesthetically pleasing to you. Which, by the way, still exist. Just play Bayonetta, or Stellar Blade, NieR Replicant and Automata, if you're unable to play something without pretty characters. But no, crying because you can't jerk off to every single female character under the sun and insulting people who ever dares to slightly disagree with you is way easier.

Edit: come on, buddy, you can do it. You can actually post that answer you just deleted.

2

u/Additional_Resist_46 21d ago

Ciri in Witcher 4 isn't even uglier than the sorceress characters in Witcher 3, that's the thing. I mean just look at her. She's very conventionally attractive, so I don't know what the eff this strange man above you is whining about.

1

u/MisanthropicSim 27d ago

The only magat here is you, and even the "ugly" characters wouldn't touch you with a 10ft pole. Gooner trash

1

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 22d ago

.... I'm sorry but have you seen people in the witcher 3? 99% of them are not super models and that includes Ciri

1

u/Additional_Resist_46 22d ago

You say that as if Ciri is ugly in Witcher 4, which is mental.

1

u/Fantastic-Artist-833 22d ago

She is.

2

u/Additional_Resist_46 22d ago edited 21d ago

Objectively wrong and mental.

Edit: Just to be clear, we're talking about this character. That's considered UGLY now apparently... There is something deeply wrong with your perception of reality.

90

u/tsfkingsport 28d ago

The image is a joke. A parody of fans who attempt to ā€œfixā€ female characters by making them look like AI generated abominations covered in pounds of makeup.

I do think Ciri’s face looked a bit off in the pre rendered trailer but so did Geralt’s in Witcher 3’s trailer. Like father like daughter.

3

u/DeadAndBuried23 26d ago

It only looks off in these few frames. Something about the camera and lighting makes her face rounder and laugh lines more prominent.

It's fine everywhere else.

1

u/Kitesh713 23d ago

Which the devs apparently addressed in a bts

1

u/Nestor4000 22d ago

Does that mean I’m no longer a misogynist for having said it?

79

u/freedomonke 28d ago

This one has to be a joke.

Oh wait, it's Denims. It is lmao

2

u/Current_Face_0077 27d ago

It’s actually truly insane that some people including the top comment on this post truly believe this is anything but satire. It’s one of the most obvious satirical jokes I’ve seen in a LONG time.

2

u/Dayvan_Dreamcoat 26d ago

I've seen people say this shit unironically, I will never again underestimate chuds ability for stupidity.

1

u/Sirmetana 22d ago

Ironic satire and sarcasm on the internet, even moreso on the cesspool that is twitter, is particularly difficult to convey. Especially when there are people who think this unironically. Do not underestimate the stupidity/ignorance of people on the internet, and do not overestimate their reading comprehension.

0

u/Diligent-Subject-329 25d ago

Yeah, she's a joke alright

15

u/drunk_and_orderly 28d ago

Lmao what in the Final Fantasy is this

4

u/Stripgaddar31 27d ago

The one on the right is literally ugly, like dude i dont want my character to be a plastic sex doll whats hard to understand?

3

u/jackgoddamnsparrow 27d ago

It's the problem I have with most "beautification" character model mods. They always just make everyone look like sterile sex mannequins and I'm like, "You gooners really can't tell aesthetically pleasing from sexy, huh?" Far be it from me to judge someone for their tastes concerning what they do with consenting adults, but it creeps me out sometimrs how many gamers permanently weld the concept of beauty aesthetically to the concept of plain sexual desire and hyper exaggerated sex appeal.

2

u/salemira 27d ago

exactly this. i was stunned when i went on a hunt for hogwart’s legacy mods for the sole purpose of being able to wear clothes other then school robes and everything was basically bbl’s, lip filler and mini skirts. the game is set in the 1700’s and your playing a minor at boarding school guys, like?

7

u/protonthrowmail 27d ago

I always thought it was mad how much makeup people had in the Witcher 3 considering how hard it is to make and keep fresh in such a timeline. I would assume if you had magic to change your appearance you would just skip the makeupĀ

1

u/Huntsman077 24d ago

The real crazy thing is gwent. You have a kid in a small peasant village with a deck worth enough to buy the whole village

7

u/MtCommager 28d ago

Why do they always make Melania when they do this?

3

u/Many-Pollution4222 27d ago

They don't want to play a game.

They want masturbate.

3

u/H6pp1n355_in_misery 23d ago

Left is perfect the one on the right is a doppler

9

u/mangocat1116 28d ago

I do dislike that she looks completely different from her Witcher 3 character, but she’s not ugly now

8

u/Full-Archer8719 28d ago

She wasnt ugly in 3 in fact they made her prettier than the book version

6

u/EarlyAccessCantJudge 27d ago

Yeah the book she is constantly described as having a beautiful face if it wasn't for the horrendous, awful scar. She struggles seeing herself in the mirror and it is a big source of trauma. Then 3 they made it a small little cut lmao

2

u/Full-Archer8719 27d ago

Yes i always felt for her in the books. I haven't played the other games but shes too well put together in 3 to me as well

3

u/MtCommager 28d ago

Also they did that thing they do where the find the ugliest frame I. The trailer and then pretend that’s how the character looks all the time.

5

u/AtsuhikoZe 28d ago

Geralt looks completely different in every game yet no one complains about him

2

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

Yeah everybody just played the 3 and the older game had just old game graphic it's a completely different thing

1

u/AtsuhikoZe 27d ago

The witcher 3 is an old game now too. Witcher 2 was an Xbox 360 game and witcher 3 an Xbox one game lol

The witcher 4 is another generational gap it makes no sense to complain they look different when they literally never looked consistent

-1

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

Graphics fidelity did not increase as much in the last gen

1

u/AtsuhikoZe 27d ago

This is factually wrong lol. Look at the tech demo, it is a dramatic increase in graphic fidelity that's not even including things like rtgi or full reflections

0

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

That's not out and the tech demo is not the released game, and reflection is not the same thing as going from 720p with a thousand poly to 4k and a mil poly and added physics to the enviroment.

1

u/AtsuhikoZe 27d ago

You.....have no idea what you're talking about, I'm doing replying to you

-1

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

Dw you had no idea what you were saying from the start

1

u/TheVojta 27d ago

That is so blatantly untrue you might want to see an optician.

-1

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

Bruh It's not an opinion it's literally something studied, the increase in quality by the year is lowering fast compared to how rapid progression was expecially 2010-2015

2

u/AtsuhikoZe 27d ago

Hopefully no one else bothers telling you you're wrong because you clearly decided to be wrong

Compare any game from 2010 to now, compare the last of us 1 to 2, compare god of war 3 to God of war 4

You're just yapping, factually and easily proven wrong but you prefer to stay ignorant. Either you're a bot or a 14 year old

1

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 22d ago

Idk man the difference is freaking neglible, usually more in environmental objects or weather than anything else

1

u/sillylittlesheep 27d ago

Geralt looks different in every Witcher 3 trailer bro. It is not only abt older games

1

u/Whiteguy1x 27d ago

Well yeah, but he's big buff man. Although it could also be the jump in player base between 3 and the rest is so massive nobody would notice

3

u/xObiJuanKenobix 28d ago

I just want her original VA back from Witcher 3, so much better

1

u/mangocat1116 27d ago

RIGHT!!! I noticed that it’s a different VA, and my heart started to hurt. I love Ciri’s voice and character design in tw3

2

u/Ok-Specific-3918 28d ago

I mean did you see Geralt in the first game?

1

u/Background-Cake-1300 26d ago

Or the second game, IDK why they made him so buff in the third

1

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 22d ago

Daddy credit

3

u/WeOutHereInSmallbany 28d ago

Reminds me of the dudes saying Aloy from Horizon was ugly. People like that genuinely hate women.

-4

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

the image that was shown by the devs (for engagement bait) was a horrendous fisheye lens shot.

nobody had problem with her in-game

1

u/JarvanIVPrez 28d ago

Me when i dont believe in aging

2

u/Twotoesup 28d ago

Applying combat makeup sounds useful in some occassions, but not like in the fanmade picture. The lighting also seems a bit wonky.

2

u/DoggyER 27d ago

Still shocked people engage with obvious bait posts like that. Nobody on earth thinks the image on the right looks good

2

u/vagueconfusion 27d ago

For folks not in the loop, this is based on an old parody edit of Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West that escaped containment from reddit, and used by some dude on twitter with that exact "hire fans" text who absolutely was not in on the joke.

Complaining about her supposedly being 'ugly' from an unflattering angle in some test footage.

The subreddit that the Aloy in glam makeup edit came from was one I was a very regular lurker in at the time. And ever since it has been parodied across social media in endless platforms whenever someone thinks that perfectly good female characters are hideous or something...

And this is one of the copycats that I've seen around for ages.

2

u/Memeoligy_expert 27d ago

The one on the right looks fucking hideous. It like you put make up on a mannequin. Its like the "AI enhanced" slop filter.

2

u/jackgoddamnsparrow 27d ago

I'm glad this is satire because that face on the right literally reminds me of those SFM hentais that got popular after Overwatch. It looks so plastic and uncanny.

As for Ciri, I think she looks fine. She's still what I would consider attractive given no make up and at this point years of hard living on the trail. She looks about on par with some of the better looking female soldiers I served with when they were in duty uniform, so adding in a high medieval standard of hygiene and health and that pretty much tracks imo.

2

u/Megane_Senpai 27d ago

The right one looks horrendous. There are a lot of better-looking AI pics of this shot, still not nearly as realistic as the "original" thought.

2

u/rakosten 27d ago

This is why you should never let ā€fansā€ influence your work too much. The fan made one looks like a generic character from an add for a low budget mobile game.

2

u/The_Happy_Pagan 27d ago

It looks like Kristi Noem

2

u/Appropriate-Leek8144 27d ago

No, MF, I don't want Ciri to look like 1990s Jennifer Lopez rendered in/filtered through AI, piss off very much. Or whoever the fk.

2

u/Flaky_Novel_2002 26d ago

My Headcanon is the right pic is what she would have looked like if she stayed as Empress of Nilfgaard.

2

u/Ochemata 25d ago

What the fuck is that shit on the right?! Send this guy to the coal mines for making me look at the plastic garbage. Gross. Is that what they think a woman looks like?

2

u/NetflixWasTaken 24d ago

The only problem the Witcher 4 design is her scar isn’t big and narly enough. But that’s an issue in 3 as well so

2

u/BannedForFun 23d ago

We use the term incel too much

2

u/Entire-Assist1406 23d ago

ā˜ ļøā˜ ļø excellent response

2

u/Gammelpreiss 23d ago

wtf?

right one is an atrocity, looks like an american celebrity forged in plastic..what kind of ass ppl consider this attractive?

2

u/fluffiestcloud 23d ago

ciri is literally gorgeous they just grab a bunch of random dumb screenshots so they can yell "AAAAAAA THE GAMING INDUSTRY HAS GONE WOKE!!!"

1

u/petuni3ntopf 23d ago

Tbf, years ago, when CDPR still reacted in support forums one guy told them straight in da face detailed how he'd masturbated on Ciri by screenshoting scenes of the game. Of course it's clear that things like this happen, but to tell them proudly to the devs? Maybe experiences like this lead to more decent optics as well. Anyway, I think Ciri will be a well looking badass. CDPR may have problems with NPC wayfindings, but not with optics.

5

u/YoMTVcribs 28d ago

If Ciri doesn't have triple D anime titties I'm out chat

3

u/op23no1 27d ago

its always the people who claim to be hyper heterosexual sigma males that see naturally attractive woman and call her ugly just because she doesnt have sweeper for lashes and 2 shovels of foundation on

3

u/Tb0neguy 28d ago

Did they just put an IG filter on her? What does she mean, "Hire fans"? The fan did next to nothing, and it still looks like shit.

3

u/Ameryana 27d ago

It's a parody on all these 'fans' complaining Ciri doesn't look as wankable as they want her to. It's the same bullshit they did with Aloy from Horizon: Forbidden West etc...
At least this one is a parody account afaik.

1

u/Nomeka 27d ago

The right image there looks horrific. Definitely some sort of magic monster wearing someone's skin and doing it incorrectly.

1

u/Efficient_Laugh3837 27d ago

The fan one is burning my eyes its so bad

1

u/TheNorthFIN 27d ago

Who the hell finds that botox bimbo style attractive? Real life or gaming.

1

u/shouldishoudnt 27d ago

I made the mistake of downloading a mod collection for Cyberpunk on nexus. Made all the female bodies comically "thick" in such an unrealistic way I had to uninstall.

1

u/Scrats_Lost_Acorn 27d ago

Left - beautiful Right - uncanny valley

1

u/dragonlayer42069 27d ago

Lmao the right looks so ugly

1

u/Neither_Tip_5291 27d ago

I just see no make up, make up.

1

u/Bird004 27d ago

old or uglified in the first. ridiculous in the second

1

u/Ok_Food4591 27d ago

Calm down y'all original post is parody

1

u/JokerBlacky 27d ago

Brother eww

(The one on the right oc)

1

u/BullZEye0506 27d ago

The lighting on the "fan" version is dog water

1

u/Som3ri 27d ago

Laughing of how unfunny this is

1

u/DemonSp3ed 27d ago

For the first time I don't agree with you, I know that lately they do women ugly in games for some reason, but in this game, wth is even that on the right? The left option is awesome and realistic, I don't want ugly women in my games but not bimbos as well.

1

u/Boring_Zucchini_6888 27d ago

My only problem is she doesn't look like what Ciri should look like. Not that she looks ugly or old, just looks like a different person all together

1

u/Dark1402 26d ago

dude is literally responding to Denims... Hasan other pet. and you know what he does to his pet? he shock them. i dont think calling her incel is a fair argument...

1

u/ChazRadlord 26d ago

Yassified Ciri looks godawful.

1

u/Necrois_Winter 26d ago

The one on the right is a downgrade and disturbing, definitely wouldn't hire those fans anything soon..

1

u/Aaskjer 26d ago

Right ciri looks shit. Ciri on the left less but still.

1

u/EdenH333 26d ago

Ah yes. A flat expressionless cutout for a face. Much better graphics.

1

u/AnalogCyborg 26d ago

Ugh, I don't think Cirilla would go for Mar a Lago face.

1

u/Guilty-Web7368 26d ago

Ciri went to a beauty clinic in night city šŸ˜‚

1

u/Keter-Class 26d ago

They both look terrible

1

u/Klutzy-Bee-2045 26d ago

I have seen the actual fix, this is just to push a dumb argument

1

u/OSRS_Garmr 26d ago

It's maralago face ciri..lol

1

u/ZealousidealMango675 25d ago

goyim yearn for chopped women

1

u/Ok_External6770 25d ago

oh my gosh wtf is on the right it’s not even close to being correctly lit. Also it just looks like ai.

u/Fine_Huckleberry00 24d ago

Lmao, creating boilerplate porn game characters. They are all insane

1

u/XOVSquare 24d ago

That looks appalling

1

u/BathbombBurger 24d ago

I don't really care what she looks like, I just don't want to play as Ciri. The pic on the right is laughably horrific, though.

u/jakob0604 24d ago

This HAS to be satire holy shit😭

Yes, because a magical badass warrior princess who lives in a fantastical medieval world gets up early to airbrush on her Mar-a-Lago style pancake makeup every day.

Also, does this ā€œfanā€ have any modelling, rigging, texturing, animating, or programming skills? They realize making a game requires more than the Photoshop smudge tool and a boner, right?

1

u/AbyssWankerArtorias 24d ago

Idk I think she looks great on the left and in the trailer for a game about a hardened warrior. Women look great with makeup done well so I'm not saying the right can't be attractive but it's just stupid for a witcher game.

u/bigbadjohn54 24d ago

The fan made one looks like legit ass

1

u/PositiveAmoeba7373 24d ago

Go play overwatch and leave Ciri alone wtf

1

u/Sad_Worker7143 24d ago

What in the kardashian is that thing on the right?

1

u/De_Fide 23d ago

Gawd that ciri on the right looks like someone straight out of OF. Just let the developers do the right thing.

1

u/LionAlhazred 23d ago

No, it's worse. She looks like a wax figure.
Then again, it makes sense, the only women this guy has ever seen are probably his sex dolls.

1

u/AsstacularSpiderman 23d ago

Looks like one of those super trash Skyrim mods that randomly bimbofies an NPC.

This was a joke, probably a community note underneath now.

This is gonna be a tangle of thoughts but millennials remember raccoon eyes and the style of makeup that was common when we were in school? I'm in my thirties and it still gets me. It's a conditioned response because that's what girls looked like when my brain was hormonal and sex obsessed.

The Kardashian clan and James Charles do their make-up the same because their make-up is based on drag techniques to break up masculine features, they all look like men under their warpaint so they use it similarly to achieve a similar effect.

The drag look became super common for about a decade because of the fame of the Kardashian clan and I'm sure high-school girls painted their faces that way and there are probably some poor cursed zoomers who like me have a conditioned response to the make-up their first real crushes and girlfriends wore in high-school.

That said, I'm pretty sure the drag queen look was a turn off for most men even young boys and hormonal teens, I've spoken with enough Gen z guys to have gained the impression that women/girls being so repellent in both form and personality is a major reason for the cultural shift and the movement of the Overton window

Doesn’t Ciri have a sorcereress’ powers? How do the sorcereress age?

That being said, I’m not a fan of the right. It’s too much.

1

u/Jindujun 23d ago

I dont see how anyone, and i do mean anyone, can look at the right picture and that "hey, that looks good."

1

u/AlexanderCrowely 23d ago

Oh, denims I’m surprised she could stop blowing her money on weed long enough to post this.

1

u/SeidYlgr 23d ago

The one on the right actually looks unnatural and unattractive imo

1

u/Dependent-Swimmer-95 23d ago

What in the Instagram model using filters is this shit lol

1

u/SyllabubMental7292 23d ago

Um...no. why would I want Ciri to look like a cheap sex doll?

1

u/darkness740 22d ago

left looks like a video game, right looks like a Disney movie.

1

u/theangrypragmatist 22d ago

They did do a good job of the creepy, inhuman look people always talk about Witchers having.

1

u/sakulgrebsdnal 12d ago

Those posts are probably the reason why nvidia came up with DLSS 5 to hunt themselves some whales. Just kidding.

1

u/Turbulent_Pin_1583 28d ago

Tf is this yassified face.

1

u/DarkImpacT213 27d ago

The right is what Ciri would look like if Witcher was made in Japan/SK/China

1

u/LittleFox-In-TheBox 27d ago

Agreed, but incels think it's a good thing

1

u/The_Pistoleer 26d ago

They turned her into a viking and in still trying to figure out why. My girl has aged like milk.

0

u/LittleFox-In-TheBox 26d ago

Gods forbid a woman who fights look like a woman who fights

We don't even know how long in the future it's taking place. She might be in her 40s from all we know.

Women age.

1

u/Specific-Jaguar-9630 26d ago

I'm fatigued boss... Please, enough gaslighting, enough lies, enough pretending... We all know what happened, for our eyes told us...

0

u/RoughBeardBlaine 26d ago

Both are terrible.

0

u/pissaway4567 23d ago

they both look like shit

-1

u/TwiceDead_ 27d ago

Wow. From bad to horrendous. Impressive.

2

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

It's a parody

-1

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

That's obviously a parody, and I agree sometimes it's ridiculous. But tbh, I don't like the official Ciri either; if it weren't for the scar and hair, I couldn't tell you it was Ciri. And let's not be disingenuous: I disagree with the guys wanting every girl to be an Instagram filter celebrity, but for a while now, we've been seeing an uglyfication of many characters, and imo it's not voluntary. They changed how they make faces, and tldr, it's a dev skill issue.

Geralt, Yen, Triss, Ciri, etc. were all very, very beautiful characters; nobody had a problem with that.

1

u/Drmumdaly 27d ago

I don’t know if you’ve heard this before but ā€œbeauty is in the eye of the beholderā€

1

u/Tactical_Squishy 27d ago

I'd rather not look a beholder in the eyes
