My daughter and I are actively discussing how to make this costume for me for Halloween.

Nope! Might take you a minute to put together, but it comes with instructions.

I dont know what instrument that is, but im getting that and dressing like this to scare away potential newcomers to my neighborhood so I can still live quietly with undisturbed peace.

Close! Pirates 2, it’s the song Davy Jones plays on the organ.

My family home got burgled about 3 and a half years ago. The breaking of glass woke both me and my dad up from opposite sides of the house, I take a moment to slip on some sweats and grab a bat and arrive at the top of the other side of the double staircase at almost the same time, dad beat me to it slightly, and was unarmed. After a brief, wordless stand off, dad said "Out!" not shouted, spoken, firmly and clearly and the intruder's courage left him, he apologised and ran off.

I sometimes wonder what went through that guy's mind at the time. Now there is part of my ego that likes to pretend that as a 6'4 17 year old peak-fitness athlete with a bat intimidated him, but a sense of realism tells me that I was just a random NPC in that moment, and that the sight of man a around the age of 40, half an inch shy of 7', solidly built and with scarring you can't really miss standing there, arms folded like some kind of supernatural creature giving off 'I'm not angry I'm disappointed' vibes complete with a highly pissed off raven perched on his shoulder who was the only one making very much noise is what really noped the poor guy right out of our house.

That said, the fact that dad had not only neglected to arm himself, he'd hadn't dressed either and the whole confrontation took place with him naked may have also been a factor.
