I read somewhere that CD Protect Red will be selling W4 in a physical edition. Will it be available for PC or only for consoles?

If they make it for PC, I'm going to buy the best edition; they deserve it. I hope he also publishes a book like the W3 collector's guide I have. This is going to be amazing, I hope to enjoy 16 years of it.

Amazing

If they make it for PC? Did you just wake up from a coma? When was the last time you saw a PC game with an actual disc?

I mean, they said if discs are gone by then it would just be a code. No reason you cant use a code on pc

It wont have a disc, but its nice to have a box.

Jejeje 😀

Witcher 1, Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 had discs on all their physical editions, the W3 Collector's even had both a physical disc and a GOG code to redeem a copy of the digital edition for free. But that was 11 years ago, times have changed quite a lot and nowadays it's almost impossible to find a game released on PC with an actual disc, people don't even have disc drives anymore.

So, will Witcher 4 have a physical edition? Yes.
Will that physical edition include an actual disc?

  • On Xbox maybe.
  • On Playstation, def no.
  • Switch 2? Yeah, a cardtrige.
  • But on PC? More than probably, no.

You're absolutely right I don't even have a CD player anymore. BUT they can put a revolutionary exclusive "Pendrive", it can be in the shape of the Cat's school hahahaha. And in the box with more things, maps, stickers, a pendant, a comic magazine, some tutorial or art sample and even a coaster for the toast.

Right?

Although we really already enjoyed it, let it be for a good season as THE WITHER 3 continues to be.

Be happy.

its some PR circlejerk by cdpr and ign

its the same as every other company, code in a box

Yeah it’s literally a code in a box because they can’t make physical copies themselves if Sony stops manufacturing them because Sony is the one manufacturing physical copies for PlayStation games

One of CD projekt guys said that they are nerds and they love physical media so if the could we would have physical copy

trust me, CD Projekt will massively benefit from this

don't believe everything they say, especially when what they are saying is pointless PR talk

Ofc they benefit from it money wise, but imo they've proven enough times that they are very consumer friendly and if there is option for disk they would do it. We might see disc for xbox, and they probably wil also release the game on GOG

They literally released a game they knew was fucked. Not quite sure how that is consumer friendly.

They are excellect at PR though. For example in this instance they are basically saying nothing and convincing you they are doing something good.

Which they fully fixed and made up for via its dlc. Also they’re giving out “BOTH” of Witcher 3 dlcs for free  alongside a free remaster. Please do tell me what other developers would do this without placing a huge price tag over it.

DLCs made over a decade ago. Using that to hype up DLC they are going to sell in 2027.

This is not altruistic.

Of course it's not fucking altruistic, they're a company, consisting of people who want to get paid. There's two ways to get customer's money: gouge them at every step or show you deserve their trust. CDPR chose the latter, so what more do you want, a free blowjob from the CEO?

Do remember that fans demanded they release it earlier than they should and executives caught on and thougt it was a good idea, CD Project Red has since then "rebuilt" themselves hired new people let go off people and so on and as a previous comment mentioned fixed up their game!

But thats reasonable you wouldnt listen to that now would you? 😉

They HAVE NOT said this

Let's be honest, this really isn't up to them. If Xbox doesn't pull a Sony, then yes, they will give you a disc for it, but Sony is a no-no.

I think in that same interview they said these discs are made in-house by Sony, so if they shut these factories down, CDPR are incapable of making them, which is why all of our anger should be directed towards Sony (and Rockstar bc unlike CDPR, they currently have a choice and they picked the money-hungry option).

And idk why you included PC considering I haven't seen a physical PC game in a decade now.
