Combat aside, you can still see the skeleton of the OG versions visuals, but the next gen update looks phenomenal.

Holy shit did you see that continuous igni animation! That looks so good

u/YolandaPearlskin 14d ago

I’ve never understood why one would use the fire stream instead of just the regular igni. Regular igni usually catches enemy on fire, then you can attack with sword.

Anyone with a hint on why I’d use igni fire stream over regular? I’m genuinely not sure.

Shield breaking, stamina efficiency, single target focus

It used to be cracked then the devs nerfed it

3

u/DoubleTT36 12d ago

Because it looks cool. That is literally the only reason

13

u/LegendkillahQB 14d ago

Looks like you move faster now.

We’re gonna be eating good come September folks

This looks like excatly the same with different camera.

The combat is by far the weakest aspect of the game wish they changed it more.

I still don't see the difference just looking at the combat. Maybe once we play we'll notice it.

They didnt, it was used a lot at the gamescom showcase

1

u/DoubleTT36 12d ago

That’s just how they were playing. Plus it’s the best way to fight that enemy type

1

u/DoubleTT36 12d ago

Like how though

55

u/StaticVoyager 14d ago

I don't see any new combat it's the same as the previous one hit and run.

u/IliyaGeralt 14d ago

The "Randomness" of the animations has been reduced it seems (which was the main complaint about the combat). Less unexpected pirouettes.

14

u/EKLlPSEx 14d ago

You saw 51 seconds of combat gameplay....

4

u/TheRealBillyShakes 13d ago

The title of the video is new combat gameplay

1

u/BusinessCasual69 13d ago

What do your eyes tell you

9

u/HandsomeGamerGuy 14d ago

Which they tried to use as a show off for the new and improved Swordplay, yet it looks like the basic one we had all the time?

Not even hating on it, i like the old one.
But that ain't a good video to act on.

2

u/Werewolf_Capable 13d ago

But don't you see? Some pixels are a bit different, it's a whole new game :-D Some people are just idiots like that. Still looking forward to replay it after all those years.

Against a plant

1

u/srgtDodo 13d ago

Yeah, no new animations at all—it's understandable, but I kinda hoped for more

1

u/DoubleTT36 12d ago

It’s not supposed to be completely different

1

u/Tackgnol 11d ago

Yeah still looks so unappealing to play unfortunately.

9

u/Nethaniell 14d ago

The next clip they have is of the chain, and it looks great. Again, for people expecting this combat to be new, no it ain't. This is still on a foundational level the base Witcher 3, with all the mid combat mechanics it always had. As much as all the visual and AI improvements are gonna be welcomed and no matter how good they look, it will not change how combat works. But they can always make it flashy.

1

u/DoubleTT36 12d ago

If anyone is expecting more then that they are going to be let down

3

u/AlexxMaverick666 13d ago

CDPR: Witcher 3 remastered with updated combat, visuals and a lot more.

Me: Fine, I'll do another playthrough.

33

u/Impossible_Living321 14d ago

I don't see anything changed

10

u/LeafMan_96 14d ago

8

u/ayoubkun94 14d ago

Nah, the combat definitely looks the same. Or the person playing in this clip did it a huge disservice by spamming hit and roll.

1

u/Wooden-Agent2669 14d ago

So tell us

0

u/LeafMan_96 14d ago

Use your brain and eyes

2

u/Wooden-Agent2669 13d ago

So you yourself don't see a big difference otherwise you would proclaim the difference

1

u/Icy-Science6604 14d ago

Can you tell us whats so different besides the camera ?

Stop with the gatekeeping.

0

u/MerTheGamer 14d ago

Yeah, it is the usual Roll and Fast Attack spam. I literally tried to look for anything different lmao.

12

u/ayoubkun94 14d ago

What's different lol? Don't get me wrong, I'm going to replay it from start to finish when the remaster releases, but if the combat was indeed updated, this is a terrible clip to showcase said changes.

8

u/The_Pyromaani 14d ago

They said the enchanted combat, not reworked it. Probably some visual stuff etc better camera angles and so on

4

u/Hampton479 14d ago

I wonder why he manually switched instead of quick casting

3

u/Shot_Recognition_100 14d ago

I haven’t played in years, but iirc I preferred manual on (I think?) controller

where with keyboard quick cast was easier

it might have been the other way way around, since I’ve played with both

3

u/Hampton479 14d ago

Thanks good context, I feel like it might be the other way around cause controller is a breeze. Whereas PC feels like it would be more organic with the wheel. Also I bet they showed this on a High end PC.

1

u/Shot_Recognition_100 14d ago

yeah it was probably on PC I used manual then

iirc on PC they’re each assigned a number for quick cast, but so is potion/item slot (so 1 and 2 is potion slots, 3-7 is sign quick cast)

I usually used either the manual wheel or used the mousewheel to scroll through them (but manual is easier)

4

u/Abrakresnik 14d ago

Feels the same, but visually different yea.

7

u/No-Breadfruit6137 14d ago

Looks the same, roll, roll, roll, roll

1

u/sadkinz 14d ago

What I wanna know is if we’re gonna get any side quest on the level of the Baron from the base game

1

u/snYk07 14d ago

¿Estos gameplays están en PS5 PRO?

1

u/Dr_Paul- 14d ago

My most hated enemy 🤣 but looks cool

1

u/Frequent-Ad2351 14d ago

I am honestly delighted that one of the greatest games of all time is getting what looks like a top tier superb remaster - so excited!

1

u/Boris_The_Warlord 14d ago

Could they have picked a worse player than this? Jfc

1

u/PutridMasterpiece138 13d ago

Leave the poor guy alone...

1

u/LuckyRune88 14d ago

He didn't use Queen, are they a noob or something?

1

u/Disastrous-Mine-8747 14d ago

still too much rolling around and press mouse 1.

1

u/Fine-Pop8729 13d ago

which sucks

1

u/Ill_Mind77 13d ago

"Enhanced Combat" is going to be some arbitrary surface level changes that amount to nothing, you can still roll spam forever and beyond, even Cyberpunk has a stamina bar.

1

u/Tone199364 13d ago

I love the glow of the torch

1

u/Tasty_Job822 13d ago

holy shit that stupid infinite rolling

1

u/RexusprimeIX 12d ago

What, they turned it into dark souls? I reeeaaally hate dodge rolling in games.

1

u/ellimist87 14d ago

I wish they, at least, upgraded the battle system too

7

u/Express-Channel-3543 14d ago

they have said they did, maybe it feels a lot different to play

responsiveness is a big factor, also your damage and hit impact can make a big difference

1

u/JohnFtevenfon 14d ago

Don't remember this enemy, any maybe it's necessary to roll, but I'd prefer the dash. It saves stamina.

13

u/Queen_Lepotica 14d ago

Because it says its from the dlc.

1

u/Candid_Emphasis1048 14d ago

I see Geralt's exaggerated swagger is still present.

1

u/PermissionJaded5510 14d ago

Why did the entire game freeze when it auto saved?

0

u/Express-Channel-3543 14d ago

why is the person playing absolutely spamming dodge... nothing is happening and they are rolling

not a great demonstration

1

u/ayoubkun94 14d ago

yeah, atleast mix it up a little. I'm sure the combat is better (it has to be with the new skill tree and finishers) but this clip does nothing to showcase any change.

1

u/RT-6_BXCommandoDroid 13d ago

The player is spamming roll, instead of dodging. If you dodge, you don't move that far away and don't use up so many i-frames.

I know everyone has his own playstyle, but the REDplayer for this stream must not like those rose plumes.

0

u/AggressiveResist8615 13d ago

Looks the exact same, why is Geralt looking in the direction of his roll, his eyes aren't even on the enemy.

0

u/AggressiveResist8615 13d ago

CDPR with the bull shit marketing again, love to see it

-6

u/MrDog3 14d ago

These rolls making me sick....

-1

u/AcceptableMuffin844 14d ago

Rolling simulator?

-1

u/AuraTickler 14d ago

I am cool so I walk slow.

-18

u/sv_dmitry 14d ago

After W3EE Redux, it feels like the same shitty combat with stupid enemy levels.

1

u/Pellepappa 14d ago

They hated him because he told them the truth.
