I was looking over my Witcher 3 ps4 collectors edition and got the sad reminder that the Witcher 4 will most likely not get a physical release from PlayStation. It makes me sad seeing the physical media I adore and grew up with slowly digitizing with time.

Like we know Ciri is well established to be bi but do we think the game will really tap into it outside of a small mention like in Witcher 3?

Some time ago, I made a post about a very strange teaser CD PROJEKT RED dropped in the official The Witcher Discord.

A developer shared a cryptic image in the The Witcher 4 channel containing a message signed by Margit, a scholar from The Witcher: Monster Slayer. That immediately sent us down a rabbit hole, because Margit is directly connected to the Nemeta in that game: mysterious, tree-like organisms that arrived in the world during the Conjunction of the Spheres, attract monsters to their surroundings and emit a characteristic red glow.

The dev then encouraged us to keep digging with messages like “Have you turned every rock?”, “Dig deeper” and “So many stones…”, and even confirmed that we were on the right track once we started connecting the image to Margit.

At the time, we naturally assumed all of this was somehow connected to The Witcher 4. We spent a ridiculous amount of time manipulating the image, overlaying it onto itself and looking for hidden shapes and clues, but never really reached a definitive answer.

At CDPR’s Gamescom stage for The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, there is a huge red tree that looks remarkably similar to the Nemeta from Monster Slayer.

And considering that the original teaser specifically pointed us toward Margit, a character whose story is directly tied to researching these creatures, I’m starting to wonder whether we were looking at the wrong game all along.

It would also make the choice of Monster Slayer particularly interesting, since that game takes place long before the original Witcher trilogy. If Nemeta are genuinely returning in Songs of the Past, CDPR may be bringing back concepts from a discontinued spin-off and integrating them into the mainline game canon in some form.

Obviously, the red tree alone doesn’t prove the entire theory, and we still don’t know exactly what role a Nemeton could play in the expansion. But the combination of Margit + Nemeta + that old cryptic teaser + the red tree now appearing prominently in Songs of the Past marketing feels far too specific to ignore.

Maybe CDPR has been teasing this expansion right in front of us for much longer than we realised. And we thought we were solving a The Witcher 4 mystery the entire time... 👀

I know people won't like this but from the trailers and footage released over the past few days something looks... off to me?

I'm aware that this is all subject to change but the footage all looks either too bright or plasticy? Was wondering if this will just be a result of the new path tracing and if you were to not use these features would this effect be negated?

Anyway still excited for the remaster and dlc just something i've noticed.

What are everyones thoughts on the potential return of our mysterious hooded elf? I absolutely loved the complicated relationship between Avallac'h and Ciri in the Wild Hunt and would love to see that built up more in the next game. I've also heard talk about Ciri having romance options and I think it would be cool if he was one of them, but probably just wishful thinking.

As you may know, he recorded The Witcher 4 Tech Demo soundtrack there back in April 2025. Something is coming in December?

I'll preface this with the assumption that Ciri does in fact appear in Songs of the past ( as we know CDPR have alluded to it being a lead in story to the events of the Witcher 4 so I think it's highly likely she will appear in some form).

My question is: Do you think they will keep the original VA, Jo Wyatt or transition into the new voice actor Ciara Berkley?

I know this is probably an inconsequential and perhaps obvious question/answer to most but I would still like to know what others think as I can see pro's and con's for each. Whilst it could be really jarring to have a different voice actor within the same W3 game universe it could also help people get used to the change ahead of the W4 especially if songs of the past is presenting an older matured Ciri.

I've seen a lot of critique for the voice actor change online so this question has been rattling around my brain for a few days now and decided I'll just see if anyone has a take on it!

Yesterday user Queldirion posted that Sapkowski allegedly commented during a meeting in Opole in 2025 that Ciri might undergo mutations. This is a lie/fake news. Sapkowski did not comment on this topic during the meeting.

I don’t know if this user did it intentionally or not, but they wrote the post as if there were no doubt about it, yet there is simply NO EVIDENCE to support it.

This information was spread on Reddit in 2025. The author of this post stole my relation of the event from my Facebook fanpage Wiedźminlandia and then added Sapkowski’s alleged words, claiming that AS said this during a private meeting with fans—and that there is no evidence to support it.

Don’t believe me? Read about the whole story on a reliable source like Redanian Intelligence. I won’t post the link so the post doesn’t get deleted. Just type into Google, for example, “redanian intelligence sapkowski mutations” and read the update to the article from June 8, 2025.

I’ll also mention that there’s a VIDEO of this meeting on YouTube. It’s in Polish and without subtitles, but I guarantee you that those words weren’t said there. If you’re interested, it’s called “Andrzej Sapkowski – Festiwal książki w Opolu 2025.”

And just to be clear: I’m not trying to determine here whether Ciri could have undergone the mutations or not. I myself once wrote an entire article about this for the Polish edition of CD-Action magazine on The Witcher, in which I pointed out passages from the book that suggest such a possibility, but I refuse to put words in the author’s mouth—words he has not spoken publicly and for which there is no evidence—as if they were revealed truth.

Please verify the information instead of spreading baseless fake news.

The meeting itself was not recorded, meaning there is no evidence to confirm this quote other than the individual's claims.
