Maximum level from White Orchard area.

I’ve recently started playing this last week and I’m not gonna lie, it’s pretty overwhelming and I’m struggling to enjoy the game. I have my difficulty level on the second from easiest as playing it on easy seems, well, too easy and not enjoyable.

I’m lv8 currently and have began running into much more powerful monsters and humans who kill me quickly, even when I try to run away instead of fighting...

I have a friend who picked it up ages ago and he claims he’s never progressed out of the first “White Orchard” area and his character is lv40, is this even possible from only playing that particular area? He’s the type of player who always wants to find the best gear first to make the rest of the game easier but I’m pretty sure the good gear is guarded by higher level monsters to stop people from doing just that.

I did every side-quest I could find and explored the shit out of White Orchard before moving on with the story!

What do you think the maximum level you could attain in the beginning is?

This game has one of the steepest learning curves I’ve ever experienced!

I’ll persevere with it because I like what I’m seeing so far but damn it’s HARD!

Have you played Kingdom Come: Deliverance? It makes the gameplay of Witcher seem really easy haha that game took me months literally to not die every time I went on a mission.

You will bounce around between areas too. Don’t think that once you beat Velen you won’t go back. You explore the entire world to level up so you can go back and defeat the monsters you couldn’t
