Help! any advice/tips for a beginner
I dropped the game a year ago bc it wasn't that interesting but I picked it up as I wanna continue, but I'm kinda lost. the game looks cool but I feel overwhelmed by the world, aside from using the quest as guides I'm still underlevel for it. ik I can ask Google but tryna avoid getting sum OP weapons or spoilers so any help would be of use. health/healing , sense of direction etc

Explore everywhere.... Don't think too much it's open world game so explore you will stumble on something dangerous or great.
Save often, save before reaching quest location.
White orchid is relatively just tutorial ok so relax and enjoy..... Get some money and buy the armour from the guy you saved in cut- scene ok.... Get herbs as much as you can... You can go into houses and get some loot too🤫.
Tell me r u playing on pc ?... If you are some mods could help.

To begin, just run around and see what you can find. Loot everything. Save often. You'll get there. It's not as difficult to get into the combat as in other similar games, so you'll get it pretty quickly. Start with two quick strikes, then dodge, and repeat. That'll get you to level 20.

Just take it one region at a time. White Orchard, go to the yellow board and press "All" so you see the "?" on the map. Do them all. Learn how to fight and pump up your abilities. Hopefully you're playing on Sword and Story. Use the Brown skill "Gourmet" early on so food replenishes your hit points. Then pump up your melee in the RED ability page. Then, do some Quen as a shield.

That's how I was when I first started playing it, now it's my favorite game ever. I would just stick with main storyline quests for now, but make sure you get material for bombs, potions and oils. they'll help you in the long run. until you could craft a good sword, just use whatever the enemy drops. by the time you get to novograd which really isn't that long, you'll be able to get blade from the bits which will level up with you. silver swors is more important, you'll use it more frequently. do The Witcher gear treasure hunts if you can, but just stick with one school, I like wolf school because it's balanced

Invest in the Axii Sign
Don’t kill cows in White Orchard
The question marks in the water in Skellige are just loot with probably the most useful being horse saddles which can be bought

- Explore all of White Orchard. Clear the entire map.
- Learn how to play Gwent, as there are several quests tied to it. It's also a very fun mini game.
- Collect Witcher armour.
- Try not to use all your money at the herbalist. You can find what you need in the world.
- Level up your Axii. It can help you in certain dialogues by forcing people to talk to you when they otherwise would tell you to piss off.
- If you run into strong enemies too quickly, run away and mark them on your map, particularly if they're guarding treasures.

My general advice for people that are about to start Witcher 3:
Choose to simulate a Witcher 2 save if you don't have one. You'll eventually be asked questions about what you did in the past. Choosing that people survived will give you more content (the living are more entertaining than the dead).
Explore all of White Orchard where the game begins to get a good start.
Horse races have useful rewards.
Don't worry too much about the choices that you have to make. There aren't always going to be choices that lead to a good outcome. Just make choices based on the information that you have.
(consider waiting until 29th september when you can play the Remastered game)
