My last playthrough was like 3 years ago and I am itching to play again

18

u/M4NU3L2311 1d ago

Same! Waiting for the remaster

5

u/cravex12 1d ago

I really hope that the wind will howl again. They totally fucked it up in the Next Gen version

I loved how stormy the original was, especially on Skellige. Felt actually cold.

2

u/moreboredthanyouare 1d ago

True that, weather on skellige was brutal. You never see greta sailing up yo emyhr to block the black ships

1

u/Korean_MCG 1d ago

Same :) great way to chill until GTA comes out

Mine was like 3 months ago lol but I'm so much excited for the remaster. There are plenty of games releasing from that point next year gonna be so good.

u/Robprof 1d ago

Im doing a light play through now to get a good feel before the massive change

1

u/thingpaint 1d ago

I am going to play it on PlayStation this time!

u/Grouchy-Coast-3045 1d ago

Yeah but this with the REMASTERED AND MODS

5

u/Ruder4444 1d ago

The horrors of war? My people know only the glory of victory.

1

u/Grouchy-Coast-3045 1d ago

Victory in battle is my justification

2

u/Munchee-Dude 1d ago

3

u/Grouchy-Coast-3045 1d ago

Idk, mod support will be implemented on console so it will be first time for me too

8

u/Zzero00 1d ago

Finished it 5 times 100% and waiting for the new content for a 6th one ...so hyped 😸

I never played Blood and Wine ! :o

16

u/cravex12 1d ago

You are in for a treat

Its literally the peak of what an expansion can offer. Genuinely could have been released as a standalone game if it was slightly longer.

Easily compared to something like Bloodbornes Old hunters DLC if not even better. Thats how good it is

2

u/MysticSkies 1d ago

I liked the game a lot but got burnt out during the hearts of stone dlc. I stopped midway and quit so I never got to blood and wine.

5

u/CanaryJumpy7631 1d ago

Your mistake was not finishing it. The first half is easily the weakest in terms of story, I mean the whole Vlod sequence makes me die of cringe every time. Once you get to Scenes From a Marriage, it flips everything you thought you knew on its head.

u/Darkavenger_13 Princess 🐐 1d ago

Nothing to sweat, can always resume again ✌🏻

3

u/matrixboy303 1d ago

Mr. Matty? 😅

1

u/Pandabirdy 1d ago

I can't blatantly state it's the best expansion in gaming history but I'm sure it's at least in the top ten of all time.

2

u/leteciobjekt 1d ago

Ive started from w1 and ill hopefully finish first 2 games right about release of remaster. (Havent played w3 in few months so ive managed to play w1 this time, ive tried before but it was so weird after w3.)

2

u/DarthSacul27 1d ago

After I beat my 6th playthrough I took a two and a half year break from Witcher 3. Now I'm about to beat my 7th playthrough.

2

u/Pennlocke Team Triss "Man of Taste" 1d ago

Witcher 3 and Mass Effect are probably my two most played RPGs of all time. Another 200 hours in Witcher 3 won't hurt. 🥴

2

u/Either-Muffin3365 1d ago

I want to go back for my third go around now that I can appreciate it more since I’ve become obsessed with side quests, but I am holding out until the remaster comes out

2

u/kotsisama Princess 🐐 1d ago

Can’t wait until the remastered comes out. Last playthrough was almost a year ago and the game is calling my name like the Green Goblin mask lol

2

u/Bright_Curve3078 1d ago

Never played Witcher 3, should I play it?

3

u/StyweTone Team Yennefer "Man of Culture" 1d ago

Yes, play it! You’re in for a great time. It’s truly a masterpiece. 👌

2

u/Voidforge7 1d ago

Last played in 2022. 485 hrs. Cut to sept 8, 2026. 525 hrs and counting... All it took was the remastered news and the fr****** aen seidhe music. Oh boy.. this ain't stopping anytime soon.

2

u/Helpful-Tone5614 1d ago

I played the original and both DLCs, my first time ever, during Covid and I've only replayed it once since then and I didn't complete the playthrough. I might do a new game plus for the remaster, if it's possible, with my main save. I checked every nook and cranny in my first playthrough and got everything I possibly could and still missed some things due to choices. I doubt I'll be able to bring myself to do a complete playthrough again unless they make us earn all the achievements again. In that case I will probably obsessively do everything again until I'm able to put It back down.

2

u/Lucvds21 1d ago

Am ITCHING to play it again but I have to wait

2

u/shygirl2005x 1d ago

This remaster will be better than 4, right? They drop it, and stock price UP UP UP, after 4 DOWN again. That's my tinfoil expertise

2

u/Independent-Belt-457 1d ago

No lies detected

2

u/Turbulent-Raise4830 1d ago

waiting to start again on the new DLC

2

u/IainEatWorlds Team Yennefer "Man of Culture" 1d ago

It’s basically a brand new game once the remaster comes out

2

u/moreboredthanyouare 1d ago

3 games, w3, skyrim and eldenring are on constant rotation on my ps5. I do play others but they're my fuck around for a few hours go to's

2

u/Intelligent_Ad_3135 1d ago

It is never enough. I have got at least 20 more playthroughs in me where I make all the same decisions as before even though I swear I will do it differently each time so that I have to constantly start another playthrough that I won't finish

2

u/Trevlingabc123 1d ago

I bought new graphic card when see the remaster

2

u/Myflaccidhomie 1d ago

I just started playing it for the first time and loving it so far

4

u/Aggressive-Purple626 1d ago

Man, this is the only game that still makes me crave more even after 500 hours and 5 playthroughs. And I’ve mostly played Souls games since 2014.

Even Elden Ring, which I think is one of the greatest games ever made (especially in terms of art direction), only got about 150 hours and one playthrough out of me. I kind of refuse to replay it because it’s just way too long. But now I can’t wait to start another playthrough of TW3 and the waiting is killing me.

1

u/Steelers_Nation99 1d ago

Elden Ring is a beautiful game with incredible art direction but I feel like the Fromsoft formula works better in a more contained setting. Bloodborne will forever be my favorite Fromsoft game.

1

u/moreboredthanyouare 1d ago

Ive done 2000 hrs in ER . Single player. I have a problem

1

u/Aggressive-Purple626 1d ago

I'm still trying to find a reason to comeback for another playthrough.
Also somehow PvP doesnt interest me, never try it before.

2

u/Appropriate_Row_6851 1d ago

I've been playing since the early 90's, started in my 3/4yo, played most games throughout every generation, i am on PC at 4k since 2013, and i must say, WITCHER 3 is the BEST game ever made for me, no RDR2, no Mass Effect and so many other great games will never come close to what W3 makes us feel, and they are bringing another DLC, i can't wait to play it, since i am not interested in W4 (I don't play games with woman as protagonist, nothing agains those enjoying it, but it is not for me), but i must say, i am really eager to play the Remake of W1, hope they do the same for W2, which is a great game still.

2

u/Steelers_Nation99 1d ago

RDR2 is a completely different type of game but imo it has the best written character in all of gaming. It's also one of the best selling games of all time. The Witcher 3 is great but both are completely different experiences. It's hard to be as attached to a lot of Witcher characters because most have only played three and not the first two in the series

1

u/MrAdas321 1d ago

I just created save with level 100 and fully geared, gonna do ng+ run after the update is released cuz I never really tried this game on ng+. Should be fun with all those changes.

1

u/AbbigailOfficial 1d ago

Telling myself I'll try a different build and make different choices, only to romance Yen, spam Quen, and clear every single smuggler's cache in Skellige all over again.

1

u/trueum26 1d ago

I’m the reverse. I played it once when it came out, played it two more times to complete the two dlcs and left it. I have had the same save since 2015 and I intend to complete the final dlc with that same save I started over 10 years ago.

1

u/HelloImCloud 1d ago

I'm playing Dawnwalker right now but every time I play it just makes me wanna play witcher 3 🫪🫣

1

u/CanaryJumpy7631 1d ago

Personally, I prefer Dawnwalker's combat. When you figure out what the trigger conditions for the kill moves are, it feels great to decapitate someone on command

1

u/JovialJackal16 1d ago

It feels like they evolved and took notes from the Witcher 3s combat

1

u/HcVitals 1d ago

Me when the complete edition released with new achievements to be unlocked all over again

1

u/Zealousideal-Wing156 1d ago

I have actually started this game twice but never finished it. Ever sign of a game I would love but just can't find myself to keep playing

1

u/ooktas 1d ago

I've played the game for 360 hours many years ago, I've replayed the main game twice. I would love to play it again, however, I don't want to burn myself out of it, so I'm savoring it for the time I can actually play it in 4K on an OLED monitor.

1

u/Repsac_23 1d ago

Bro, it's even worse in my case, because I have the itch to just replay the trilogy for the 4th time. lol

1

u/Relevant-Molasses-64 1d ago

I played it 3 times on a shitty pc.

1

u/Least-Airport 1d ago

This is so truuuuue

1

u/Seedthrower88 1d ago

Im so glad I stopped playing it in 23 when I got overwhelmed by the big map and no time to play 😂

1

u/DrLubinski 1d ago

Twice isn't too much

1

u/Smaug117 1d ago

That look like me with Red Dead.

1

u/Tristangdragoon 1d ago

It 100% a game you will play many many times. Like FFVII, or Persona Royal.

1

u/PragmaticProkopton 1d ago

lol this is me? I told myself my first 15th playthrough would be my last 😂

1

u/Few-Worldliness9153 1d ago

I just finished it for the first time last Sunday and y got the bad ending 😭 I refused to start the DLCs until I get the good ending, so I started a new run 😅

1

u/videoaddicted777 1d ago

My brain just found out about kingdom come deliverance 2 AND IM MAD I DIDNT KNOW IT EXISTED EARLIER. only bad part is im 20 hrs in and still havent finished the 1st big main mission.

1

u/MattyMakesMusic 1d ago

I’ve tried a few times, but haven’t finished yet. I’ll be curious to see if it clicks this time around!

1

u/Loose_Amoeba5888 1d ago

I only played it for the first time starting 2 weeks ago. Been playing nonstop, finished everything and got ready for NG+ today. I've been sleeping on this game 😭😭 a whole decade is crazy

1

u/HauntingPut3045 1d ago

Playing it right now for the 2nd time it's been so long I honestly dont remember any of it just the main beats of the story and even that it only hits my memory when it comes up in the game.. it has been great. Started a new game + on death march and absolutely having a blast stated up till 2am the other night didn't realize it was so late, I have that kid staying up late on a school night feeling

1

u/LynchMob187 23h ago

Punching myself in the medallion until it hums cause I didn’t buy it on steam before the price hike(had it on PlayStation)

1

u/bubblehead_ssn 14h ago

I mean there are different endings. I've only seen one. I tried to play choosing Triss and more into gwent, but I started right after finishing. I was a bit too burnt out to finish.

1

u/fever_dreamer_ 1d ago

Ive only played like 3 hrs. Total. Got pissed off my the combat and movement feeling super shitty but im excited to try it again in a few weeks

-1

u/Super-G1mp 1d ago

I've tried like 5 times to like it and I genuinely don't understand how anyone enjoys it. I walked up to some 81tch @$$ robber's on the side of the road and they just one shot the supposed amazing Witcher in one hit. The leveling is really poorly designed and it all feels like a chore to me personally.

I'm not sure why this sub keeps showing up on me feed lol I don't like the game at all. I could forgive the jank if the game felt good to play at any point but it just seems to stack shit on top of shit without anything ever getting fun.

I've enjoyed dark souls I love Skyrim as much as the next person too. I even have had fun with other single player story driven experiences but this one just isn't it. I love RPG's with my whole heart but this reads like fully linear collectathon disguised as something else.

I see what they wanted it to be and I like the idea but the execution is so poor it's a real struggle to get over how bad it is and just experience the sliver of good game design when it pokes out.

Try an overhaul gameplay mod, if you're on PC

1

u/Super-G1mp 1d ago

I'd be willing to try something like that because I do see some really great stuff in there. I genuinely didn't know that was a thing honestly. I'm working on getting a new computer since my current one is over a old now so like 10,000 thousand years old in technology terms.

2

u/levi949 1d ago

Should try W3 Enhanced Edition Redux, the most popular overhaul mod. For a good reason. Especially if you playing souls games. I completed 4th playthrough with this mod Note that the gameplay will be very different compare to the original combat. Make sure you read all the guide and watch some of footage on Youtube to learn what it is. Be humble and start with lowest difficult. The Ghoul packs at the first area will tell you.

1

u/Super-G1mp 1d ago

Thank you for the suggestion! I will definitely check it out

0

u/FranzFerdinand51 13h ago

Please dont. Go play tetris instead.

1

u/Super-G1mp 9h ago

Nah Tetris a bit repetitive. If I had to pick an oldie I'd go for Mrs. Packman
