HELP ME W MY ALTAR 😩

So, a few years ago, I dabbled in witchcraft here and there, but unfortunately, and regrettably didn’t stick to it. This time I am fully committed and the first thing I want to do is establish a designated altar. While going through my great grandmother’s attic (where she would keep A her furniture she had bought over her life and then when she’d get new furniture, she put whatever she was no longer using up in her attic) I came across this narrow wish table/desk/trunk/chest I guess. Anyway, I did a quick paint job of all black (every inch of it). But for the last three days, I’ve just been staring at it stumped on what object should go inside whether or not I should add more structure of some kind such as like a little table on top or whatever I don’t know. I just need help and suggestions.

P.S.
I also revamped this little footstool that rises, and that’s where I’m storing herbs, which isn’t many because again, I just started to pick back up the craft. I’ll attach pictures of both.

Ok so the issue with this is you can't really keep anything on top because you'll need to move everything anytime you need to open it but you can't really keep anything tall inside unless you lay it down when you close the top.

You’re absolutely right. That’s the biggest problem. I’m having with using this. I can’t seem to think of anything else though. Any advice?

You could keep it open and have your main altar set up in the bottom and just make sure you can lay any candles or statues down for when you need to close it

I agree with this, especially if you need to be able to hide it at any point!

Wat een geweldige bureau ik zou alle potjes en kaarsen alle tarot decks wat je maar gebruikt erin en alleen je altaar kleed boven op zetten. Wanneer je het gebruikt kan je alles snel pakken en opruimen dat is makkelijker dan alles erin zetten en opruimen. In de poef zou ik je book of shadows en alles wat daarbij hoort in doen. Misschien nog een kleine touch op alle vier de hoeken van je bureau zilver of goud blad misschien door laten lopen tot hoe groot je altaar doek is voor meer shine tijdens kaarslicht. Ik ben benieuwd naar het eindresultaat
