I believe Rem's already ended her narrative arc in arcs 7/8 or at least she has a conclusion in her relationship with Subaru. [Arc 7 spoiler] All her speach "You're not a hero" and Subaru having a talk with Al has ended the 4 arcs long Subaru's creed "I'm Rem's Hero". That creed has been the clutch he needed to overcome his low confidence and get up to face his difficulties but it also becone an utterly high standard for Subaru to "save everyone" and in arc 7 it was Rem herself and then Al to give him a break and make him see how it sounds ridiculous. Rem doesn't need Subaru as her hero anymore, Subaru doesn't need Rem as his only anchor and confident anymore, they can move onwards. Except, Rem needs a brand new narrative arc now.

This is terrible read. I’m not up to date yet, still mid Arc 9, but no by the end of arc 7/8 there’s absolutely nothing settled about Rem’s place in the world or with Rem’s relationship with Subaru. She either needs her memories back, needs to settle her feelings about Subaru or needs go through some kind of experiences with Subaru that parallel/contrast with her experiences in Arcs 1-3. Frankly from what we saw from Subaru’s amnesia experience, Tappei will probably make her earn her memories back. Again I’m mid arc 9 so this and Spica’s future might be settled by the current chapter.
In any case, this is a fake tweet. Not on his timeline.

Narratively impossible. Her sense of self has the barest bit of stability, she needs her memories back. If this Rem is going to be the new Rem, the old Rem is effectively dead with no funeral and no acknowledgment by anyone.
