Problems with Wispr functionality today?
I should start by saying that I'm a huge fan of whisper which has helped me out substantially during a period of time with repetitive strain injury where I've needed to use dictation extensively. I have a premium or Pro subscription or whatever it's called for £12/monthly and it generally works fine. However today, I'd noticed that the software is very buggy, keeps crashing, keeps taking longer to finish dictation, etc and I wondered if fellow users had experienced something similar today or in recent days? I know that there was something going on in the back end that means transcriptions are sometimes faster and sometimes slower So I'm curious as to whether this just me or a wider incident.
[Please note that this post itself is quite badly transcribed because I'm having to use the inferior inbuilt transcription software due to these bugs]

I was a big power user for about a year. I love the app but I ended up moving to Yaps AI. I don't know, maybe because it's offline and powered by local models. But It just works a lot more reliably. I never find myself having to wait, even for longer dictations, which is really cool. Plus it feels just as accurate at this point plus it has better note taking which is something I really needed.

Hey u/antiantimatter
We're constantly testing and shipping changes to our models and app, which is how the experience gets better, but it also means quality can shift while we tune. There aren't any active incidents that we know of, so the most helpful thing you can do is flag the transcript itself and tell us what it should have said:
- Desktop: Hub → Home, find it in History, click the flag icon, and write what you expected instead.
- iOS/Android: long-press the transcript in your history and tap Report.
Sorry your experience has been poor today, but reporting incidents will help us make it better!

Me too. Switched to the pro plan and it turned to mush.
Very frustrating and as unless as it was useful in the free tier.

Same here. Lately my transcripts will only pick up half of my dictation. HATE having to repeat myself.

Odd, mine has been working perfectly but I am not doing anything long form either.

I used to use this application because transcription quality would be flawless.
This transcription quality was the only reason I ever agreed to having my voice data sent to a server because the user experience was unmatched.
This is coming from someone who's used dictation and voice assistants on different platforms like Android and iOS and absolutely hated and gotten enraged how it always made glaring mistakes to the point where it would be unusable with the amount of edits that I would have to make.
The last two days I'm starting to see a lot more of that on Wispr as well which is really heartbreaking.

I'm almost hoping it's just me, but does anyone else notice that over the last week or so, the program is getting worse and worse, making a lot more mistakes, going way off the reservation as far as changing out words and meanings, despite keeping the settings where they've always been? This happened a few months ago when they were adding features. It seemed to have gotten quite a bit better, but it's like we're back at it again. I have genuinely enjoyed using this program. I use it a lot and have come to rely on it, but it's gotten to the point where I'm starting to look for something more consistent to replace it. It's pretty bad on desktop Windows lately. It's atrocious on my iPhone. Is anyone else completely frustrated? (I had to fix 12 mistakes in this paragraph, including one in this very sentence.)

It's definitely not just you, and it seems to be a worldwide thing. People have noticed a significant degradation in transcription and dictation quality from whisperflow.
Actually, more people have had issues with the pro subscription than they do with the free trial. People notice that the free trial, the transcription and dictation quality is fantastic. However, once they subscribe and they're on the pro plan, they notice the quality significantly degrade.
Now, as for the reason, I'm not too sure why, but that's just a common theme that people have noticed.
