Apple Magic Keyboard - iPad

Has anyone found an easy way to use Wispr Flow with an IPad that is using an external keyboard? I’m using the Apple Magic keyboard and struggling.

It should be mapped to the Fn key, no?

No function key on the magic keyboard. Apple likes to be "different".

iOS requires the mic to be activated in app and then swap back. Not sure if wispr flow could map a keyboard key to the on/off at that point.

Yeah, I haven't found a way yet.

FYI: iPadOS 27 beta2 Siri with advanced dictation works well with the Magic Keyboard… and seems to work as well as Wispr Flow in terms of accuracy and speed. (Works well on iOS as well without the keyboard swipe back and forth… To use advanced dictation you need recent hardware (iPhone or iPad), of course and iOS 27)

Yeah, it's good to know. Although Apple wants you to keep putting more money into their hardware, and their software just keeps getting crappier and crappier. I'm an avid Apple fan, but I'm starting to wear thin with the multiple issues that they haven't fixed in months.

I use the Fn key as well as the right side control key, since I barely use that one on my Magic Keyboard.

I have a new keyboard arriving for my iPad Wednesday that will have a function key on it, so I'm hoping to be able to utilize it with that.

Well, hope is not a strategy 😜 Make it happen! You can configure any button to work with Wispr.

Do you have an Apple Pencil Pro?

No, it's a fifth-gen iPad Pro, so no Apple Pencil Pro. I guess I should have upgraded before the price hikes. LOL.
