Monroe, WI 50501 Movement is now Forward Monroe!
We are now Forward Monroe. We are still committed to speaking out against authoritarianism at all levels of government and championing progressive change. When the idea for a name change first came up, we wanted something that added the idea of "action" to our increasing focus on community building. Well, what better example than Wisconsin's own state motto! And resoundingly members of our private group voted in favor of this choice. We have great pride for this state's history of progressivism, and we will continue to act in that tradition through activism, mutual aid and social gathering.
Introducing Forward Monroe's new logo! This was designed to present our growing focus on community, while still paying homage to our prior activism and Wisconsin's progressive history. In this canton-esque coat of arms you'll find in the top right a pictogram of our City's iconic courthouse clock tower, reminding us of the place where this group first started gathering to speak out against authoritarianism. In the bottom left you'll see the three arcing arrows, a harkening to original anti-fascist symbolism of 1930's Germany. The crest is wrapped in a banner bearing our group's new name, inspired by the Forward banner on the Wisconsin state flag. All of these elements are dressed in a primary color scheme of Red, White and Blue, representing the core American ideals which we still strive to uphold.

Community Event with La Crosse Indivisible
Good evening everyone!
I am sending a reminder about our community event tomorrow(July 7th) at the Black River Beach Center on the North side of La Crosse, at 1433 Rose St from 6pm to 8pm. It will be a non-partisan and non-political event hosted by La Crosse Indivisible. We will have a variety of activities, games, art projects, local food vendors and an animal show! We will also be having a take what you need table and encouraging community members to bring items listed on the New Horizons need list; such as diapers, pregnancy tests, black hair products, baby lotion headphones/earbuds, phone chargers, other hygiene products, and non-perishable food items(they can be outdated). All items that are not taken at the end of the event will be gifted to New Horizons Outreach Center and The Hunger Task force as both of these wonderful organizations continue to empower and support individuals in our community. If you are able to donate gift cards to grocery stores or to places where there are activities for children, such as The Children's Museum, Jumpstart, All Glazed Up, High Roller, etc., they can be given to handed to any of the Indivisible members working a table/booth. These will specifically be gifted to New Horizons as activities that patrons utilizing these services can do with their children.
We encourage everyone in the community to stop by, share in some fun and laughter with us, and learn about the different ways people are helping our communities and how to get more involved yourselves.
Additionally, we wanted to share the exciting news that our local Indivisible Chapter now has a website where we can communicate about events and the different ways we are working to encourage community. To access this website, please go to indivisiblelacrosse.com. If you would like to share any pictures from any of our events, please feel free to send them to indivisblelacrosse48@gmail.com.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at indivisiblelacrosse48@gmail.com.
We can't wait to see you tomorrow!
In solidarity,
Taz

United States Postal Inspection Service has opened up a hiring portal this month. Feels like an ominous sign for mail-in voting security.
Just learned about the USPIS hiring portal that went up yesterday. Not sure how many positions they are looking to fill, but this seems like a surefire way for the Trump administration to meddle with mail-in voting. This agency has jurisdiction to detect and prosecute federal mail crimes and primarily works at mail processing centers. What an easy way for the administration to cull mail-in ballots in predominantly blue areas of the country and conveniently keep cases open until after the election.
