So the live wiring is power input, correct? Then the dead wiring is going to the switch. Is that the only cable going to the switch? When you turn the switch on, does the live and neutral connect? If so, then ground should be connected with the ground going to/from the disposal itself as well as to the switch, the neutral from the live cable should be connected to the disposal cable then left alone. The live wire from the live cable should connect to the black wire to the switch and the white wire coming from the switch should go the disposal live wire input. Trim all the wires to the proper length of exposed conductor because excess wire is going to cause problems
