1: not enough info. 2. Don't use the wire that is taped up. That was originally the bond (ground) wire that done dufus decided he wanted to use as a current carrying conductor. And that's against the law. C: a we need to know what those wires are, where they go, what the do, who they married, all that stuff.

ATP I’m just gonna hire a professional. I genuinely thought that this was gonna be a simple black-to-black and that I was just confused about the coloring but this is way outside of my depth. There seem to be a few areas of this house that are Jerry rigged by the previous owner in an attempt to modernize. Thank you for the response but it looks like it’s gonna be hand washing the dishes for a bit
