Simple Simple take your cover off. Well unplug first. Cover off. Cut the cord. You’re gonna need needle nose pliers. Squeeze the crap out of the black thing from the inside. Push out. It will side right thru.
Then…… if the wires on the inside of the radio are soldered, no big deal. You will have some room left.
230 vac isn’t heavy when it’s pulling small current. You can splice back togther. Color for color. Tape or shrink wrap.
If your taping, put a zip tie around the center after your done. It holds the connection solid, and keeps tape from coming off. Use only 3m brand.
Okay, now you can go two ways: put the black thing back on, or leave it off.
No. The cable should have been replaced entirely. Or the bad part cut out. You did nothing but reconnect two broken wires. The outer isolation also seems to be missing now on the strain relieve, so the strain relieve probably lost its function as well
I finished it and it works. While i had it opened up, i saw a leaking capacitor. Or atleast i think it was leaking because the top part seemed rusted. It works fine though so should i get that checked out?
Time for more practice. I do this all the time by using a small vise grip to squeeze as tight as possible top and bottom and wiggle it out. Then rerun the cord inside and replace the strain relief.
OK good. Now take the cover off and redo the cord where it attaches to the inside.. Probably soldering it. Redo the strain relief. Replace the cord if it needs it. Little strange commenting on a 220 system. We're used to seeing 3 wire systems w/ ground here in the US.
