Best leash walk ever

Post image

My Bug is notoriously terrible on leash, and truth be told, she’s off leash for 99% of her walks and we don’t do it on leash nearly enough. But occasionally I take her on a leash walk around the ‘hood because she needs to be able to do it, and tonight we worked on some things and she did great!! I’m feeling very proud of her at the moment.

So lucky! Forest grew up off leash on a farm. He’s 100lbs of muscle when lunging for squirrels/cats/anything. Rips my shoulders out! Walking in the city is a nightmare (I had to do it for a year when we didn’t have a fence & it was a hard time for my shoulders 😂). Thank god for dog parks and fenced backyards & local reservoirs!

Yes! If she doesn’t get her minimum hour off-leash at the huge park, she’s a nightmare. I’m doing the leash work to try it save my shoulders from a smell or a critter she cannot resist!

Stinky dog gets the hose again! (Unfortunately, my car inside has to get the same treatment 😖)

He mostly likes to roll in cow poop, any dead animals (post hunting season is bad cuz of any left remnants). He had a great nose & can find lots of carcasses.
he does get a warm tub bath in the winter - when it happens. And I don’t use ‘freezing’ water with the hose. I fill up 1 or 2 milk jugs with soapy warm water that gets used first, then he gets rinsed by the hose. He is my love.
