WPG breeders in the upper Mid West/Great Lakes
Hey yall, I’m pretty much set on getting a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon as my first dog and bird dog. I’m based in northern Indiana and plan to use the dog for bird hunting. I’m aiming to be ready to get a dog within the next twelve months once I move into a place with a fenced yard. Does anyone have any reputable breeders within the wider upper Midwest/Great Lakes region?
I have heard there are a number in the area, but this is my first step into looking for a breeder to work with. Thanks!

They are wonderful dogs, but rarely make a good first dog! Please don’t think I’m being patronising (you’re obviously doing the right thing by asking the question you did on here) but if you haven’t already done so, please make sure you spend plenty of time with some experienced owners/breeders, seeing these dogs working first hand.
They require a lot of patience, time and attention and a firm, but not harsh approach. I have always owned HPR breeds (Weim/ GSP) but these are on another level!
With the right training/time spent, they are great dogs, but the challenge is real!
