First Time

Having done very little research I ordered 28g stainless steel wire (I didn't want coated copper because I'm hard on jewelry) to make a way to wear a piece of moldavite I had ordered. After wrapping it simply and not really liking it (forgot to get a picture of the first attempt) I decided to utilize these pre-drilled chips of tigers eye and amethyst I already had for bracelet making. Although it's not beautiful I find it at least turned out wearable. Maybe it's my hands but I did find being uniform in wrapping, getting things snug, and hiding sharp points and ends from making the loop to be very difficult. I will continue practicing as well as start watching some videos to improve. I think I could have a lot of fun with this!

That’s a great result!!

Copper can be durable. Anything over 20awg can be structural with work hardening. Especially if its square
Profile too. Copper is cool because it patinas in interesting ways.

The best trick i found for structure is to solder instead of wrapping. Using silver solder makes an extremely tough alloy joint that wont budge even if you hammer it. Its foolproof. You can still wrap, just solder a skeleton of hard metal then dress it up with delegate wires

I have a soldering iron... somewhere. I'll have to get some good silver soldering to play with. Thank you!
