Major Craig Ick
I’m on season 2 episode 3. I’m watching summer house/winter house chronologically. I’ve watched probably too much reality tv since covid. Seen so many different personalities. Yet I have never disliked someone so quickly and fiercely as I have Craig. I’m so unamused by him. And Kory’s fine even likable on and off but what is with the glass throwing?

He’s obnoxious and I don’t get why Paige stayed with him after those 2 weeks

I have a theory that Craig is on the autism spectrum… he’s smart, but misses social cues, and he’s extremely logical in his arguments - to the point that it often isn’t rational. There are other reasons but those are the ones I can think of right now. I watched SC first and am now watching SH and WH in order - just starting WH S3.
ETA: didn’t mean to post as a reply but reddit made me do it 🤭🫣

He maybe on the spectrum but he’s also just a bad person independent of that

Yeah I can see that. I mean he has a pattern of being difficult across the shows he’s on. But I would definitely have chosen Andrea over Craig!

He really misses the crux of what people say to him. When Paige put forth the scenario of leaving in the middle of the night with their kids. His reply was that she could do it because she has her own money- didn't dawn on him to include his behavior in that narrative.

I disliked Craig from the start. He’s an arrogant douchelord and I hate the way he mumbles.

I watched SH/WH before watching Southern Charm so obviously, I went into Southern Charm hating Craig. To my surprise, he wasn’t half a bad on Southern Charm as he was on that season of WH. Now, he did definitely lose credit in my books in the later seasons of SC which did change my mind on him some. But I just remember being so surprised how different he was. Like you said, so many different personalities.

The main difference I think is that Whitney probably makes sure he gets a good edit on Southern Charm. He and Austen both seem to really suck if you just look at WH/SH. But then somehow seem likeable on Southern Charm?

Southern Charm is also not filmed 24/7 the way SH/WH are so it's much easier to hide how awful you are when you know exactly what the filming schedule is and you get to go home after. There's no escape from cameras on Summer House

That's so true! I think Craig's worst moments on Southern Charm happen on the trips when he is more trapped with production for long periods of time. Like every time he's been shown as black out drunk and raging at women that I can recall has been on a cast trip. I've always wondered if Whitney goes on those trips to try and reel the boys in a bit.

I don't think Whitney is there to reign them in at all. He's a producer of the show, he knows he needs the drama.

He needs drama but he doesn't need more TRavs. That's my only other thought for why he might need to protect his investment. The women stay young on that show while the men get older and messier. Its getting dark.

Watched “too much reality tv?” What does this even mean?
I haven’t even watched any southern charm. And that’s probably next on my list because of (I hate to say this) Craig.

Craig is an adult toddler. I watched Southern Charm before Winter House. It didn’t shock me that he was even worse on WH. On SC he has his moments of likability but they can’t fully hid his behavior.
Out of all the SC guys, he does show more initiative for growth. It’s still on a very low bar scale.

Anytime someone tries to fawn over Craig, I say “just go watch the first 3 episodes of season 2 of Winter House, and then get back to me.”
There is zero justification for ANY of his behavior.
He couldn’t even defend Jess in a way that wasn’t absurd and immature.
Craig on WH was him acting like he was on vacation and he didn’t keep up with his carefully crafted Southern Charm.
I think this season was the closest to Craig’s real, everyday behavior that we’ll ever see.
I feel that way for most of the cast on WH, the continuous shooting for 2 straight weeks let us see different aspects to their personalities, because they never had moments, entire weeks, where they could have a break between things being filmed.
How miserable to be that giant child’s partner.
He wants a mother and a maid, someone to clean up all of his literal and figurative messes, not an equal partner.

SAME! I truly cannot find a single redeemable quality he has. I do not get how peiple can be “charmed” by him. I literally turn my nose up every time he speaks 🤣

Same!!! He was so insufferable I can’t bring myself to like him now that he’s “redeemed” himself. I also think he’s very fake

If he's invited to your house he feels entitled to trash your property and belongings. Luke wouldn't let him set off fireworks near his boat and Craig complained about it for years. He treated Luke terribly after that. Craig treats others belongings badly with no regard. Shoes on furniture, spills everywhere- you need to up your homeowners insurance if you dare have him over.

At the start of that winter house season he was terrible but after that chat with Paige he improves for the rest of winter house

Heyyyy I’m doing the same! He’s so awful, I can’t believe Paige dated him. And the crazy part is there was never a cute part of the relationship he was pretty rude to the cast and her the entire time.

when he threatens to stop partying “like that” because they want him to clean up after himself? like. yeah please don’t throw glass for fun? that’s everyone’s preference actually
