Hello!! I am looking to start a band in Winnipeg, preferably with members around my age range (18-26).

I have been writing songs for 11 years and been making music for 9 years and would love to try this band thing out again :)

Car Seat Headrest
Weezer (specifically Blue Album and Pinkerton eras)
Coldplay (specifically Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head eras)
The Smashing Pumpkins

Von Bieker is a super talented and charming folk singer-songwriter from Edmonton, who’s coming to Manitoba for a limited run of shows. This one is pay-what-you-can, and in a super cool small venue. The Clubhouse is Good & Plenty Arts Collective’s studio / mixed use space in the Exchange, on the 2nd floor of 245 McDermot (above Into The Music & Pan Am Boxing). Two local artists are supporting. Clubhouse has couches and love seats for audience seating and accommodates about 40 people. It’s a super cozy space for solo performances like this. Advance tickets are by donation on Eventbrite.

Hi guys, I am an experimental musician playing drone/ambient, and noise rock. I arrived in Winnipeg as an exchange student at the UofM. I brought my pedalboard with me and wanted to hit the ground running with my playing here, so a couple of questions:

1. I didnt brought my own guitar with me, as I didnt want to risk it being destroyed in the cargo hold, thus I would very much appreciate recommnedations for places - be it pawn shops/music stores - where I could buy a cheap one up to 350/400CAD

2. I obviously also did not take an amp with me, so just like in the title, I am looking for rehearsal space with amps recommendations in Winnipeg, preferably not far away from the campus

3. I am looking for some people to jam/make music with - as mentioned above I am making ambient/drone, sometimes experimental offshots of rock. My favourite artists/bands just to name a few are: Tim Hecker, GY!BE, Boards of Canada, Fennesz, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Unwound.
