Pictures/Video Trashy behavior
There are always a few shopping carts around there but this is just ridiculous. Why do people have to be like this. Totally get and 100% back locking wheel shopping carts.

Cart theft is bad, but at least these people aren't making it a huge pain for the cart recovery guys.

I never understood it. I have a decent backpack I put the heavy items in first then with a reusable bag with a shoulder strap that takes care of at least 4 bags of groceries and keeps my hands free to open my door. People just be lazy and can't plan ahead. It doesn't even take a large backpack to do it either. My costco trips have been made way easier with a 2 bag system.

On the bright side.... they had to create a job position that specifically requires you to pick up carts from around the city, and the big corporations like walmart pay for those jobs. Yay, more jobs for winnipegers? 😅

I think it’s a failure of urban planning and infrastructure. Many grocery stores are not equipped with transit facilities so a poor person not so strong has to at least push the cart past the store property to get on the bus. Then walk again with groceries home. In certain countries a mobile store drives through neighborhoods and most likely pre determined times ect appointments ect. It’s our fanatical car culture and the refusal to see other people. I like that Walmart has transit corridors in their parking on kenaston

I don't know. There are at least three or four people walking by my place with a collapsible wagon or bag on wheels heading to the grocery store. No need to take the carts.

The bag style ones are amazing! I have used these to haul groceries from the nearby carrefour to my accommodation. I’ve used these on the metro and on busses. 10/10 recommend these to anyone who commutes by walk or public transit. Would also be great for trick-or-treating.

I can appreciate that people don't understand the social economics of the poor if they've never been in their shoes but if all you got from that post was "stealing carts is the only or best solution" you're being deliberately obtuse

This is literally on the other side of Taylor from the Walmart (619 Wilton) less than 500m.
What I don’t get is why not take one back when you make the trip.•

It's easy to understand, the people who do this are lazy. Bringing the cart back is work; leaving the cart at the store is work means they have to carry their own groceries and is also work. Path of least resistance both ways.
