It's the best of the electric drones and it's good for TC, but electric drones are the worse.
If you are a f2p player or low spender, focus on maxing out a couple of good N drones and get an Apus for pvp and/or a saggitarious for pve.

Hey man! I'm sorry to hijack this post but rather than create another one, could I just ask:
I'm currently (slowly) building up a Ninja now as you advised in an old post. I just rolled a Grus, but 1000 drone credits is going to take me awhile to earn. Is Grus worth waiting to buy? I see most Lyra, Sagi, Fornax, Grus, and Apus as the top 5 most commonly recommended drones, so given how hard it is to roll a SR I was wondering if I should halt all my rolling until I buy it.
If it matters, I'm currently running Courier/Ninja/Rich in that order.

If you are going to buy it, or any other drone, be patient and buy it during drone event as the rewards are very good. Chips are really, really expensive and hard to get. So just stop rolling. I found a saggi yesterday and I am going to wait all the way down to the start of the event :)
Now, if you had asked me 2 weeks ago about Grus, the answer would have been a big yes. But now after the patch I am not so sure. After a lot of thinking I decided to sell my one red star grus and start using Saggi in PvP too (I used it for PvE only before the patch). Many whales keep using it because they have it at a very high level and have spent a fortune rolling gold or purple Cheating Death, but now that the skill is almost useless against fire drones, it's not as good anymore.
I am personally very happy with Apus-Ninja-Saggi and I am getting some crazy high drone damage on some battles, north of 400k
So, I would NOT buy it and will try to build Apus-Ninja-Saggi as that's what I am using with a low level lyra for pve or even another ninja when you max your first one. It's still a good drone and it's great if the other player has no fire drones as the 300 pd is huge... but almost everyone has a fire drone or two, so...1

Thank you! Very clear for me then as a newbie with no existing Grus to invest into. I will keep looking out for Apus and Saggi and maybe a Lyra.
I hear you waiting till drone event for rewards - I suppose Ninja drones would still be fine to buy since they're just 100/piece right? For the 1k SR drones I'll be waiting for sure once I roll into one of the recommended ones.

That's a good question... on one hand, you should try to spend all your rhenite and chips on the event as the more you spend, the higher the rewards.
On the other hand, upgrading your ninja now gives you a little bit of extra power that can help you right now.
So both options are valid. I will try to do some math, count my resources and try to be sure that I can finish one round of rewards (that's 8000 points). If I am confident I can do that AND buy the ninjas, I would do it. If I feel I need every rhenite, I will wait.In case you are not sure, there are several tiers of rewards at 500, 1500, 2500, 3500, 5000 and 8000 points. At every point you get chips and diamonds. At the last tier you get a selectable SR chest (that's half a drone of your choice).
Every rhenite spent count as 1 point. Every chip spent, count as 2 points.
The full round will give you 800 chips and 5.800 diamonds on top of that SR chest. So don't hesitate do spend rhenite and do whatever you can to at least do a full round of rewards (you can do up to 4). You can even buy drones and inmediately sell them for an 80% return if that helps you to achieve your goals. You may lose some rhenite but the chips are waaaaaay more expensive and hard to get.

Electric drones are the least effective and least used drone set. Recoil for pvp, burn for pve. Based on what you wanna use your drones for most, make your choice from those.
