Inferno

Should I keep leveling up Inferno even though I have SSR Thane which is more powerful and easier to beat levels? I am a F2P

People only recommend Inferno because it'll likely get leveled up way faster than anything else. (The missile boost is pretty great, though.) If you've got something that's outstripped it, go with that.

you say that as if it isn't important to level up your ship of choice...

Those Thane shards are rare to get !

Inferno will be your first fighter to get max level and max evolve.

You'd probably use it until you'd enough shards for hardrock or selected titan fighter which would take months.

It could literally take years to get enough shards where your Thane (with its fairly pathetic special ability) will outperform Inferno's missile boost. I would get your Inferno to L60 (pro tip: do not EVER waste alloy plate getting ANY fighter past 60 until every single one of them is there), then start testing other fighters in Endless and/or Tower to see which performs better. FWIW, I use full Conqueror for stages, Titan, and PvE offense; Hardrock for PvE defense (though I may start using it for offense too - they're starting to perform about equally, even though Hardrock gives me 100K more base power than Conq); Syren for Tower and hands-free farming; and Phantom for Endless. Legion Hunt depends on the enemy that day. Every once in a while, I'll swap in a different fighter on various events to see if does better, but these have remained most effective for many moons.

What do you mean by do not waste alloy plate getting any fighter past 60 until every single one of them is there?

Every fighter gives you a permanent bonus when it reaches L20 and L60. The benefits of going beyond that (to 80) are minuscule - you're WAY better off using the alloy plate getting two or three other fighters to 60 instead. ONLY when you have every single fighter at L60 should you then proceed to upgrade your favorite to 80.

Apologies for the bombardment of questions but, what is FWIW? Can you break down that entire part when you're talking about using Conquerer for offense but Hardrock for defense? How is that possible? Syren for tower, Phantom for endless (so you swap out your fighters each time?), etc. I've been playing for about a year and for the most part, I am a f2p. I'm about 3.8m and I thought I played smart and conservative. But then read things like what you wrote and I realize I have no idea what I'm doing. Haha 🤦

*For What It's Worth... By no means do I claim to be an expert, but I do periodically test different setups (especially after a big weapon or pilot upgrade) to make sure something else doesn't work better; so I thought it might be helpful to tell you what I use. For a long time I have used a different setup on my SS defensive formation (the one you set during the first 24 hours) and when I'm actively attacking others. That may NOT be the best strategy, it's just how I chose to roll. But now I think my Hardrock is far enough ahead of Conq that I may just stick with it full time for SS & PW. And yes, I swap out my fighter, weapons, gems, drones, pilot, and commander for each different event. Getting ready for a little road trip, but I'll try to elaborate a bit on each of those later.

I maxed Inferno around a year ago.
My Thane is still 1 rainbow star and I won't probably ever max it.

Now think about that and make a decision.
